Myself, my partner and our 4 year old son stayed here in July, the staff in the hotel were always friendly, helpful and always really patient with my son. This isn't a hotel for kids however as there isn't any entertainment and the pool is quite deep. We didn't mind though as we went along to the beach most days. Hotel is ideal for couples. At dinner there was a set menu each night but we were never disappointed, the food was excellent and we actually preferred this as it meant we tried some food we perhaps wouldn't have picked for ourselves normally.
I would recommend hiring a car with a sat nav as its around a 10min drive to the beach and it's easy to get lost on the roads! Also an Italian phrase book was our bible for the week as not alot of people can speak English in the area (although in the hotel they all speak English perfectly)
The rooms were quite dated but again we didn't spend too much time in the room so we didn't mind. The balcony is quite small and has basic white plastic table and chairs but the amazing views more than make up for this!

Overall the value for money was excellet and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday! Thanks very much abbadetta!

Is there a better view from the balcony than the sea in front of your, small villages on the left and mountains with the picks in the snow on the right? Amazing!
Nice, friendly atmosphere, I can fully recommend it to everyone!

The hotel sits on a hill that overlooks the surrounding area. Which means you can see the nearby villages, churches, castles, monasteries, farms and the Adriatic Sea. The views are breathtaking especially at sunset and sunrise. The position of the hotel is the strongest point it has. The weakest is the negligence of certain areas of the hotel and its grounds. The suites are absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable. Large sitting area, two flat screen televisions, wonderful large balconies with beautiful flowers and plants, mosaic round shower, hydromassage bath, iron and board, fridge and a small sink, dark wooden floors. Modern, up to date and lovely to stay in. The bed was comfortable with a duvet cover and white linen, and pretty to look at. The pool was also very pleasant and the views were extraordinary from there. The staff were all very super available, friendly, and professional. The receptionists Valeria and Barbara were always willing to assist you, and have excellant ways with clients. The serving staff consisted of young Chiara and Fabio who were super and a bit overworked. They really took it to heart whatever they were doing. Roberto made some of the best cocktails I have ever had before! From the hotel, the whole Marche region was easily accessed. You could take your car and visit any of the numerous beaches along the Adriatic coast (one of the prettiest is the one at Sirolo). The hotel is annexed to one at San Benedetto called Federico Chalet, which is nice and has fabulous but expensive food. To appreciate this experience, it is recommended a car and to travel through as many areas as you can.

Now to the negative parts of this hotel! The hotel is a bit neglected and very outdated. The normal rooms are small, and I would not recommend them. The showers and bathrooms are also small and impossible to move around in. There is such an abyss between a standard room and what it offers and the suites. The matresses are uncomfortably thin and hard. The storage areas are inadequate. Etc. However, the room is clean, as is the whole hotel. There is some negligence around the pool area, and on the grounds itself. At the pool, the service was poor because of the limited food choices which was offered as lunch; sometimes the pool water had too many insects in it and only one water slide worked but only after 3. Then, there was loud music playing often, and that was a bit disturbing, especially when they rent out the pool area and there are actual parties until midnight with blaring music!

There were two computers with internet access available in the lobby, which were free, and this is a positive point.

The food was very mediocre, for breakfast and especially for dinner. Breakfast was usually served outside under the pine trees, with the ciclades singing from above. Breakfast had a large assortment of cakes, freshly made and you could request plates of cold cuts if you wanted. There was yogurt and cereals, orange juice, sometimes fruits, croissants, bread rolls, and jams. Coffee, milk and tea. For dinner, the appettizers of vegetables, like eggplants and zucchini, were delicious, but the choices of pastas/soups were not very good and sometimes unedible, and the meat/fish/egg choices were also not that great. You could ask the cook for something specific, but even that isn't satisfying at times. For example, they had swordfish one night, but it was too thin, frozen and overcooked. When the appetizer buffet ran out, it was usually not replenished. Wine choice was limited too. Okay, you could eat well, but don't expect anything great. However, there are tons of other places you can really eat well in, so this isn't a problem. Fantastic seafood in any of the restaurants along the coastline and any local fare too could be found in various restaurants in the surrounding towns.

The Marche region is wonderful, and the hotel is in an absolutely fantastic position with great staff (though there seemed to be a lack of managment). Stay in a suite, enjoy the pool, the sites in the surrounding areas, and eat in the various typical restaurants around the Marche region.

What an absolute gem of a hotel! My husband and I have just come back from a 12 night stay at the Abbadetta which culminated in 8 friends joining us to celebrate my husbands '50th' birthday. We cannot praise the hotel enough - the setting is stunning, the food was amazing (and incredible value) but what really made it for us was the staff. They are just brilliant and they really can't do enough for you. They made the birthday one to remember!

We are so taken with the Abbadetta that we plan to return in September.

Have just spent a week travelling in Italy with my family, we stayed for three days at the abbadetta. where shall I start! amazing views from any balcony, the pool to ourselves, food great and a reasonable price, staff very friendly and helpful, there is a mini bus to take you to the beach we didnt use as we were happy to stay round the pool. the village of aquaviva picena was very nice too nice resturants with local food, it would be helpful to speak a little Italian or use a phrase book! Le Marche is a beautiful part of Italy not too touristy. I would recommend this hotel for a nice chill out break I was only sorry we didnt have longer.
