good variety of fish dishes, nice touch with local Philippine live music / singers (not tacky) and staff that remembered your name

“Its awesome_ check it out for yourself !!!”
Reviewed June 17, 2011

In a few words, it was brilliant every time !!! We ate there for three days straight, lunch and dinner and had a ball. The food was fantastic (I was a five star chef for thirty years, I know hospitality) the service was great, the cocktails are divine, the restaurant was immaculate and the prices are very very reasonable. I seriously dont know what those other reviews are about but dont believe them for one minute. I think these fools forget that they are on a beautiful isolated tropical island in the middle of an impoverished nation with virtual slave labor wages (no insult intended, compared to western countries). To have this standard of service and attention to detail in these circumstances is an incredible feat in itself. It really irks me to know that people go on holidays to be miserable and look for faults with everything around them. WHY!! I think if you treat people the same way that you would like to be treated then you will have a better experience. PS: Book a table for the cultural dance and buffet, you wont regret it. I want to say more but you should try it for yourself .We loved it.

“Horrible service, overpriced, food was not so great. Not worth the wait!”
Reviewed August 4, 2010

Waited and waited and waited. Service was BAD. Ok most of the philippines has bad service but this place was the WORST and we expected so much better because of the prices.

Small portion sizes. Not a good value at all. Making someone wait only to disappoint what is brought out just adds insult to injury.

“Only visited for Dinners I stayed at Resort near Coco Grove”
Reviewed April 2, 2010

My personal view is , if you are not a guest forget it the service is very very slow , a 1.5 hour wait for your meals , drinks you can go to the bar that is quicker than waiting for the barmaid.
Visit again NEVER .

“By the beach, exquisite cuisine - for a quarter of Western city prices!”
Reviewed November 10, 2009

Idyllic is an unusual word to describe a dining experience at this establishment which although in the grounds of Coco Grove resort is open to the public.

However it applied here.

This beachside restaurant opened on 4 July 2009. It has floor to ceiling plantation style glass and timber doors, exposed beams and pleasant decorations, plus a koi pond.

I had two dinners here. For under US$20, I enjoyed two well presented and tasty courses plus a beer. Tapwater is not potable, but the restaurant charges for bottled water, which in my view is a 'non-no.'

There are also private beachside cabanas in which one can enjoy a meal: linen covers the tables - it is well done and doubtless romantic for couples at night.

This however was a minor glitch. Recommended.
