“A relaxing experience”

A stop over at this centuries-old balete tree was a refreshing experience. A dip in the cool spring water treated our tired feet with a relaxing fish foot spa.

The Balete drive in Quezon City is famous because of its age and enchanting powers. but the balete tree in Siquijor is older than the one in Quezon City.

She's located along the national road and can be seen immediately because of her beauty. Locals used to wash their clothes on the pond, and you can even see fishes swim along. :)

We have seen a bigger Balete tree (actually clustered Balete trees making it look big) before in Baler, Aurora. Nevertheless, this one in Siquijor is still enchanting and old. There is also a free fish spa in the pond at the foot of the Balete tree. During our visit, the fish were full and ignored our feet. The pond was also not maintained and covered with fallen leaves. It is a good photoshoot though. Contrary to my husband's imagination, it was not spooky at all.

I was at awe at how big this old balete tree is! My friends had goosebumps while we were there.

If you are a mystery junkie, you'd love this tree. It's not difficult to start imagining eerie scenes when you see this tree. But really, it's just an old tree. To the locals, it was a good area to do laundry :)
