We stayed in Room No 7 which was clean, spacious, comfortable and with wonderful views. We were made very welcome and it was like being with extended family - Derek and Becky and all the other guests were friendly and genuine. Even the dogs were like old friends to many of the guests.
Becky printed off a restaurant menu for us and also allowed us to make a phone call as mobile reception is poor - this could be a positive aspect if you really want to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area.
We had a very satisfying and appetising breakfast each morning and two wonderful evening meals at The Royal Oak at Luxborough and Andrews on the Weir at Porlock. The hotel was full on Saturday night which did not surprise me. We were discussing dates to return before we left, as were others.
We are so pleased we chose the Dunkery Beacon for our anniversary treat. It was second to none in our ratings.

A really recommendable Hotel. We (a couple from Germany) stayed for five nights to visit the Exmoor National Park and the coast - hiking a lot. The hotel was the best place for this purpose. It is situated in a very quiet and restful surrounding. However there is no restaurant within walking distance. For dinner, you have to drive to the next villages (we recommend the Stag's Head in Dunster). Hiking trails start right at the house, for example to the Dunkery Beacon, and the hosts offered us a hiking map of the Exmoor NP. We stayed in a suite which was spacious and very clean. Derek and Beccy are wonderful hosts. The breakfast was extraordinary. We loved the hotel.

Many thanks for taking the time to write such a great review and its great having one from Germany! So glad you had a lovely time on Exmoor while staying with us. You certainly made the most of your holiday and really explored this beautiful National Park by the best means (foot and bike)!

Hope you will be able to return one day and explore even more.

Best wishes to you both
Beccy and Derek

Dunkery Beacon is a lovely, homely and cosy place to stay in a beautiful area of the country. Beccy and Derek are some of the friendliest people I have met and were very accomodating and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was delicious and it was obvious that the food was locally sourced. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with great views from every window!
Very enjoyable stay. Thank you!

We were welcomed at the Dunkery Beacon Hotel like old friends, even though we had never been there before. Tea and cake on arrival, the loan of an excellent map of the area and helpful suggestions for good local restaurants all contributed to making this a very relaxing break. The room had a stunning view of Dunkery Beacon and the nearby hills and moors and it was so peaceful that we slept like logs.
Beccy and Derek are a delightful couple who go out of their way to make you feel at home. I have no hesitation in reccommending this hotel to anyone intending to visit Exmoor. The price of our stay was very good value too. Top marks!

We are so pleased that you had such a good time with us and you were made to feel relaxed. For us, it is so important that our guests can feel at home so they can get the most from their break right from the start.

Its still very quiet here although the Red Deer Stags have started their rut and the silence is often interrupted by a unique sound traveling across the moor!

Many thanks for taking the time to write such a fabulous review and we hope that you will return to stay with us again one day and you really will be old friends!
Best wishes

Our hosts Becky & Derek were probably the friendliest and most welcoming of any hotel or b&b that we ever have visited. Nothing was too much trouble, and you get the feeling that they really care about their guests. It is wonderfully situated along a quiet lane with exceptional views over the hills. There is a footpath directly opposite, so it is a perfect place for walking - Becky will keep a look-out to ensure you have safely returned! There are so many lovely places to visit nearby. Our room was lovely and comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful. The breakfasts were superb in both quality and quantity, and were greatly appreciated.

Spent 3 nights at this wonderful B&B with my wife and her parents as we were attending a wedding in the vicinity. Cannot recommend the location highly enough as a quiet getaway on the edge of Exmoor with wonderful views from all our rooms (which were on all three floors) - the access roads are somewhat narrow but add to that get-away feeling. On arrival we received a most warm welcome from both Beccy and Derek and from their dogs. The breakfasts are superb and give you a great start to the day. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Exmoor is such a popular choice now for weddings with all the beautiful locations and views all around.
If you are down this way, do pop in to say hello as we would love to see you all again.
