Food is AMAZING. I am a huge foodie and the restaurant here is by far the best. The entire experience was fun. Getting there by boat, hearing the story of the island, walking around, etc. But, the best part? THE FOOD. Excellent. Fresh. Simple. No menu... they just bring what they know best. Would HIGHLY recommend!

The Island is beautiful and the restaurant is an institution. The food was delicious, simple and plentiful. The staff is very efficient and friendly. This a wonderful tradition - it is not just a meal but an overall experience that should not be missed! Savor it slowly and know that it takes a few hours so do not be a rush to get to something else. HIghly recommended.

The food here was simple but delicious. It is a 6 course set menu consisting of, tomato served with lemon and a selection of vegetables (all delicious), crusty bread, cooked ham & parma ham, salmon trout, fried chicken, ice-cream and peaches, cheese & brandy coffee. We were absolutely stuffed after it. It's not a cheap day, the food was approx 65 euros per person and the boat over was 6 euro return per person. The food does include wine and water, we had a bottle of white and asked for a bottle of red too as most people did. There are two sittings per day, 2pm and 7pm. We went at 2pm on a Sunday and it was great to see all the activity on the water as the lake was very busy being at the weekend. My advice would be to go as early as possible as even though your sitting is at 2, you can go over to the island and have a drink and soak up the atmosphere! We didn't need any dinner that evening as we were still so full!

We were looking forward to this restaurant, and after the very short boat trip to the island at 7euros per person, we were thrilled with the setting. Even when a thunder storm came over the lake, we were enjoing the setting.
But when people mention simple food, do not under estimate how simple this can be.
The worst thing of all was the salt !!!
The Lake Trout looked amazing - the only thing that did - but was spoiled by the waiter going crazy with the salt. But the salt was also over-done on just about everything else as well :o(
