Nice place....nice walk...nice view of the Villa Balbianello (just opposite). Just be careful not to step into the restaurant on the island...looks like a nice place but they set the table very quickly and may charge you 65 EUR for a fixed-menu lunch if you are not quick enough to run way;) But the island is green and it's apity I could not see the fireworks on June23rd......(St John's festival)

We were so grateful we did not miss this experience. This was the Hi-lite of our trip to Italy. The food, the legend, the views all made this a special experience visiting Lake Como. Because this is only accessible by boat we opted for lunch since we were staying in Varenna.
Payment by cash though is good to know.

Worth every penny!

The combination of fresh, perfectly cooked simple but original food, magnificent views and entertaining service make this a must do on lake Como. The set 8 course meal that has been served for over 40 years is an experience in itself as well as being entertained by the owner/ host. Then there is the legends and theatre of the service and fire ceremony to ward off the curse. For 65eu with as much wine as you want this is also excellent value. We also enjoyed the hour walk around the island looking at ancient ruins and history.

Look forward to returning again.

One of the most tranquil places, where a walk is a memorable event in a green environment with several archaeological sites!
