The 'nest' has possibly the best view from a bedroom we've ever had - a full panoramic scene of the western strand of lake como and it's mountains. Costantino and his family were extremely welcoming from the moment we arrived, going above and beyond what you'd expect from a B&B host. Breakfast is a fab buffet eaten from a lake view breakfast room in the winter and (we assume!) a sun-drenched terrace in the summer. Lezzano is a short bus ride away from Bellagio and away from all the high-prices that you encounter there. It also has a fair few decent restaurants. We wouldn't hesitate to go back and stay at the 'nest'.

We stayed here for one night whilst driving back to Greece.

100% my fault but I didn't realise this place was 14 miles out of Como, but as it says, it is very much "on the lake" & I can imagine in the summer when its soooo busy & hectic in Como Centre, the distance out of Como is a very welcome thing.

Winter is very quiet in Lezzano with very little open or to do, but Bellagio is just a short drive away & we were recommended to go to the Sporting Club which was great.

You could not possibly stay any closer to the water if you tried. An old family 18th century building which we're told was a family restaurant now converted to a very comfortable well equipped B&B with a handful of rooms & larger apartments.

Owner (Costantino) was a great guy, with lots of stories to tell & spoke fantastic English too (I have to learn my Greek before Italian, sorry) & at the same time never too invasive if you didn't want him to be.

A great find!!

Can't say enough about this B&B. Only wish we had stayed here longer. To us - it represents everything that is good about Italy.

Beautiful location (the rooms are nearly in the lake!). You fall asleep listening to the waves come ashore.

Constantino is a very helpful, outgoing innkeeper who treats you like a friend - not a customer.

It is a bus or boat ride to the usual attractions on Lake Como, but that only enhances the experience. One of the best places we've stayed anywhere. Not to be missed.

I stayed here for 4 days in september and LOVED it. The owner, Costantino, helped me with travel, driving and touring arrangements.(he printed train, ferry schedules; drove us to stations .) He speaks perfect english and was there when needed and invisible when not!( his wife and children were adorable.) The entire house has been newly renovated and it is chic, clean and bright. It is right on the lake, and Costantino lets you use his kayaks, floats, boats, etc. I will go back again and I highly recommend it. Note: lots of stairs.

Room Tip: Lake View with balcony is a good choice, or maybe they all come with these?

As we approached by Ferry from the town of Como toward Lezzeno, we could see the red house along the shoreline that was "Nest on the Lake"! Descending from road level to lake level was just two short flights of stairs and then there you are...right on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world! The town of Lezzeno curves around from behind you as you take in the mountains and the other little towns with their amazing villas, including the famous Villa Balbianello from Star Wars and Casino Royale! Breathtaking! Costantino greets you warmly and invites you to sit with him for a drink on the porch...you want to get to know this fascinating man with his adorable family...yet, you keep getting distracted by the vista that won't release you from it's grip. At this point, you don't care what the rooms look like because you are convinced nothing gets better than this location. But, then he takes you to your room and you are immediately wishing for a longer stay. "Exceeds expectations" is putting it mildly! Bathroom, decor, bed, all top notch, spotless, and then you see YOUR view that is in every room from either a porch or balcony! He leaves you to it and that's when you realize...yes, you can hear the waves lapping along the shore. That sound along with the comfy bed and deep sleep is guaranteed. Breakfast in the dining room is generously served from 8:00-11:00 so you can sleep in if you like. It includes meats, cheeses, eggs, and yogurt for protein along with all the other goodies. The coffee was perfect, but Cappuchino made to order is the way to go. A quick bus ride and we were in Bellagio where all the ferries hub for other lakeside destinations. I don't think a car is really necessary as the roads are an extreme sport unto themselves and parking isn't easy. You do need to keep track of the last bus time, however, as we had to be rescued by Costantino one night which he graciously did! He also made reservations for us at a Lezzeno fish restaurant that is not to be missed. There was such a warm and relaxed atmosphere and on a couple of nights of our four night stay we had drinks with Costantino with other guests in the breakfast room. Check-out was also unpressured and so lingering over the view a little longer helped ease the bittersweet feeling of being so thankful for having stayed here and yet having to pull yourself away. No pain upon payment, however, because to top it all off you were able to stay for the most reasonable rate imaginable!

Room Tip: We got to stay in the ground floor apartment, while just using it as a room, it was on the same leve...
