Lovely hotel although rooms are quite basic but they have lovely views of the lake and are located close to the ferry, cable car and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and gave us some very good recommendations for restaurants. We also ate in the hotel restaurant and the crepes suezettes are to die for!

Room Tip: Best rooms are the larger lake view rooms

Stayed @ Belvedere first week of August, 2014. Loved the location directly on the lake; no road between. The prices seemed very reasonable, especially compared to the luxury hotels down the road. The staff was great! We tipped consistently & well. They appreciated & deserved it. Our recently renovated room was nicely cleaned each day. Hotel is only steps from a bank machine, the ferry and buses. It has a good breakfast included and the chef arranged an exceptional off the menu birthday dinner for us on short notice. We had 3 meals in the hotel restaurant overlooking the lake, all very good. After dinner or for late dessert, order the Crepes Suzette, made flambé @ your table. Best I've ever had. Reserve lakeside rooms; the others are on the road which might be noisy. Bring your own conditioner, lotion and tissues. Shampoo, shower gel, soap & shower caps provided. There's a hotel dock for swimming in the lake and a sunbathing area, no beach. Argegno is a charming village with a few other good restaurants & a great ice cream shop but very limited shopping. The Funiva (tram) in town is fun to take for the views & to explore the small village above. There's a local market on Mondays.

Room Tip: Room 17 overlooks Lake Como, has a nice bathroom; queen bed; they brought in a cot for us at no char...

This small hotel right on the edge of Lake Como is like a home. Comfortable lounge, outdoor seating while soaking up a spectacular view. Right near ferry/hydrofoil. Need to be able to manage stairs. Small and friendly.

Room Tip: Lake view room if at all possible

We stayed here for 3 nights in April, the hotel is delightful, has off street parking which is a real benefit in the narrow streets. The vistas across the lake are outstanding and the restaurant serves beautiful food while once again looking out over the lake. The location is wonderful as it is quieter than Como but well located for travelling around the area. You would need a car if staying here. The hotel has free wi fi. The staff were always friendly and very helpful with local sights they felt were worth seeing. If you drive further up the hill behind the hotel you will find local shops etc. April is a stunning time to go to this area as the spring flowers were stunning.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room.

Excellent accommodation. Magnificent lakeside setting in a small town just south of Lenno. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating…5 stars!. Get a room with a lakeside view and wake up every morning to different moods of the lake! The hotel is about 20 metres from the ferry terminal. Free parking in the hotel if you have a car. The hotel has its own sun lounge area and a ramp to access the lake for a swim…amazing! The rooms are a bit on the small side but are air conditioned and the beds are really comfortable. There is a sitting room downstairs and a terrace area to relax or have a glass of wine before dinner. The restaurant is also very good. Also Free wifi. Really good place to stay!

Room Tip: Must go lakeside if you can!

The hotel is right on the lake and we had lovely views from our room which was very comfortable with a spotless, though quite small, bathroom. The terrace with sunbeds was a lovely spot to relax in and the restaurant area for breakfast and dinner was perfect. Breakfast was very good as was the dinner we had on one evening of our 2 night stay. Initially we thought dinner was quite expensive but in fact by comparison with one of the local restaurants in the town which we ate in the second evening, the food was excellent and better value for money. There are plenty of other eating options but had we stayed longer, we would almost certainly have eaten in the hotel again.
It is a two minute walk to the ferry stop for boats to all parts of the Lake and there is a secure parking area which is a boon as the public parking is a bit of a nightmare. We found the staff friendly and helpful and very willing to accommodate my pretty poor attempts to practise my Italian. As another reviewer has said, Argegno was a bit quieter than the bigger lake towns and if we return to Lake Como we would happily stay at the Belvedere again. It is not a particularly cheap hotel but it is very pleasant and reasonable value in a pretty expensive corner of Italy.

Room Tip: It is worth paying for a lake view.

It is set among blue waters and colourful mountainsHotel Villa Belvedere stands there as if seeking to dominate the lake, like a prima donna on show in all her beauty at a point were a number of pleasing landscapes meet in a play of colours that change and develop over the course of the day. It is set among blue waters whose movement creates shifts in colour that transform the nature that surrounds them. In its own inimitable style plays host to its guests in what seems like its own microcosm of refined hospitality. The RoomsThe bedrooms are little oases of culture within which guests can breathe in the typical atmosphere associated with literary coffee culture. The 18 bedrooms are a perfect synthesis of those features that go to make up refined elegance. Some of them have been completely renewed while others retain the clear mark of history. These are the ideal nest for lovers of the lake, with those perched above the water enjoying views of a constantly changing landscape with the rising of the sun, the shifting colours and the arrival of night and its discreet sparkling lights. For those who love the mountains, some of the rooms provide fine views of the verdant peaks of Valle d’Intelvi. There are also sophisticated family rooms with triple rooms and rooms with four beds. The RestaurantThere is a whole lot that is new here and a menu that also brings back the fine wine and cuisine of the area. There are some truly superlative dishes created using essentially simple combinations. The menu has both fish and meat for dishes that are innovative without straying outside the traditions of Italian cooking and the excellence of Mediterranean culture. For those who love sunsets and evenings on the shores of the lake there is also a bar that offers both aperitifs and after dinner drinks, with a range of specialist spirits available. In the summer guests can take lunch or dine in the evenings outdoors on the terrace that overlooks the lake with its delightful views. ... more   less
