“The place to relax for couples”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

This is a perfect place to relax. A good hotel for couples; no children. There is a great spa, only a little difficult that not all personnel speaks English. Food is excellent and served on the big terrace with a nice view. The room we booked had a small balcony, with a view to the neighbours. We were lucky we could upgrade to a more luxury room with a huge terrace, sunbeds and a great view over the lake.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a large terrace and (very important) lake view!

Highlight of our 40 day tour of the middle and top half of Italy. Discovered too late as we are in the last week of our holiday and had family to visit.
Elegant decor, warm, friendly, and efficient staff. The view of the lake is calming. Perfect place to unwind after Milan!
Booked for one night, immediately extended one day which was all we could fit in. Would definitely stay for longer the next time and book a spa treatment ahead. It was booked out for the two days we were there!
Excellent breakfast.

Room Tip: Book a room with a view of the lake.

The hotel which is on the western slope of Maggiore 10 minutes north of Verbania and 30 south of Locarno is a little difficult of access but worth the effort. The staff were exemplary and the breakfast outstanding. The top floor is given to the Spa which seemingly is brand new and quite beautiful. Both the Spa area and the terrace of the restaurant have wonderful views of the lake.
We would have given it a 5 * but for the ambiance of our room which otherwise was fine but a little cold, as was the entrance to the hotel.
We would definitely go again but you need to shop for an accepable price.

Room Tip: We did not have a room with a view but most overlook the lake.

We had a wonderful 4 week trip through Europe that spanned across numerous countries including, Belgium, France and Italy. This was by far the best hotel we stayed in!

The room was large, with living space, kitchen, separate bedroom and large bathroom. The first thing that struck me was how clean everything was, it was literally spotless. Add to that beautifully decorated with the most amazing views of the lake and you have our experience at Dolce Vita. We started our mornings making coffee and tea in the room while we sat on the balcony taking in our 180 degree view of the peaceful lake.

Did I mention the BREAKFAST? I wish I could have Dolce Vita's breakfast every morning. Wonderful charcuterie, cheeses, fresh fruits and still hands down the best organic yogurt I've ever had. We can't wait for our next European adventure and our revisit to Dolce Vita!

Having booked a week on half board I was hoping for the best and was not disappointed. We had a suite with roof terrace and Balcony. It was spotless with incredible views. All staff were attentive and gave a bit extra to ensure a perfect stay. Location is perfect being in a small village with plently of scenic walks, including the Val Grande, enough to satisfy anyone. Breakfast and Dinner served in the attractive Convivium restaurant. Breakfast was excellent but dinner was another experience with the quality, service and excellent wine choice. Other restaurants are dotted around for lunch, all with a perfect view. For a pack up when walking we went to the local shop next door and bought bread, meat and cheeses, perfect.
Not a place for children, but for Adults to relax and take in all the area has to offer.
Only one word of warning - The clock bells numb the senses, but only operate from 9.00am to 9.00pm - you get used to them
We will certainly return, and soon.

Room Tip: Not sure about rooms but the suites seem excellent - Pretty sure the rooms would also be of a high s...

I explored internet before going to Maggiore. What I have to say - area itself is absolutely fabuolus.Lake, mountains, fresh air, silence. Dream. I would love to have a house somewhere here.
Hotel is good in general. I would not call it fantastic.
Make sure you have lakeview room. Other rooms are not an option for stay.
Breakfast is not so wide, but very much enought, unless you are hyppopotamus..
SPA is there, but a bit far from my expactation. Not so bit and varity limited. Maske sure you book treatments BEFORE you aerrive to hotel. Very busy.
We spend days mainly in either spa or driving around. I would suggest to go for dinner in one of cosy local agriturismo places. Home coocked food, very reasonable pricedm and warm
Would I come here again - yesm as far as lake concerned.
Hotel - would not say NO, but would try something different
Need to mention - service is very good. Spa, reception, waitress - all are in good level.

Wow. We have just had a 3 day stay at this fantastic hotel. The view from our room over Lago Maggiore was quite breathtaking. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Ok not a holiday for children but if you want to relax in the sauna, steam room ot jacuzzi then this is a great place to stay. It is only 10 mins from the local town where you can travel by boat to the beautiful islands on the lake. Highly recommended 5 stars thank you ...the Gordons.
