Tranquil setting, ten minute walk down to lakeside piazza and restaurants.Cannobio is one of our favourite Italian towns and is not subjected to the constant boat shuttles that are experienced lower down the lake.

All we can say is that we wished we stayed in this hotel a few more days longer. I know there's nothing much to do in Cannobio but this hotel made our stay so romantic and undisturbed. The view from the balcony was just magnificent and I smell fresh air and flowers everyday. Beautiful place if you want to have a quiet time and the service rendered is simple yet efficient. One thing though, they don't really serve much food for room service after a certain time, then they would only serve desserts or cakes for room service. Then the hassle would be to drive down to the restaurant to have some quick bites. Otherwise, we totally endorse this place!

Room Tip: Best to have a car with you.

Really lovely peaceful hotel. My Husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in August as part of our holiday trip through Switzerland and Italy.

We were welcomed on arrival by the owner and she personally escorted us to our room. Extremely clean everywhere, marble floors and bright decoration. Our room was air conditioned and also had a balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens.

The hotel is located at the back of the medieval village of Cannobio, only a 10 minute walk from a wide choice of restaurants and lake. It has a nice small swimming pool and offers ample shade to sit in the gardens. We didn't eat at the hotel except for breakfast which was a good selection of fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, breads, in fact everything you could want, all served by very nice staff.

Cannobio was an interesting place to stay with its small colourful streets leading down to the lakeside. Some of the restaurants were really geared up to tourists and were not particularly cheap although this might be something to do with the poor UK/Euro exchange rate. However, there are plenty to choose from and we even found an excellent bar overlooking the lake for a glass of prosecco before dinner (just the far side of the church with the lake and ferry stop on the righthand side). It's a good idea to ask at the hotel for recommendations for restaurants.

We had both wanted a relaxing break and, overall, this was a great four day stay. We would thoroughly recommend the hotel and would actually rate it as a higher quality than it's 3* category.

We spent 3 days at the Villa Belvedere in Cannobio and had a great experience. The property is set back against the hills at the edge of town with nice grounds, views and quiet! But it is only a 5 minute walk to the edge of town and another 10 minutes through the old town and you're down at the lake edge.

We stayed in two adjoining rooms in the inn - the rooms were good sized and each had a nice large bathroom. A new building with an additional 10 rooms or so was being readied for occupancy when we were there and they looked quite nice. The new building is 2 stories at the back of the property so it does not intrude on the peaceful ambiance of the hotel. The pool is large and they had a few playtoys that my girls appreciated.

Meals are served in the dining room or outdoors if the weather is pleasant. Service was courteous and friendly and the food was quite good. Since Cannobio is located just miles from the Swiss border, the food reflected the influence of the Swiss menu. Breakfast was plentiful and dinner offered a choice from among a few entrees. Guests were asked to make their dinner selection at breakfast.

The staff provides touring information and was helpful in sending us in the right direction for our exploring. Great spot - if we are in the region again we'd definitely stay at the Belvedere.
