Our travel agency booked two nights at Rancho E Cuero on our first trip to Argentina (March 2009). We loved it so much that my husband and I planned a trip back in the spring (Nov 2010). The Palma family not only spoil you but will provide you with a genuine Argentinian experience. You feel like you have been invited to a BBQ with family and friends. The food is phenomenal....I rated it up there with our meals at 1884, Ruca Malen, Andeluna and Azafran in Mendoza. The staff, Roxanna is an amazing cook and her husband Pedro makes a "you will never get better" dulce de leche. Everything is homemade....even the limoncello after dinner (which I am still trying to get the Palama family to part with the recipe). :-)
For those looking for a great place to relax, read, eat/drink well, hike a little, ride horses a little, eat some more, nap and get up and drink / eat well again....this is the place for you. The pictures do not do the place justice. The attention to detail in the decor can compare to any 5 star hotel....but in a rustic, we are in the middle of the mountains, remote sort of way. However, the views far make up for the fact that you will need a generator at night to have light and charge your cameras, etc. And when the lights are off, the night sky will be illuminated by the stars.
I can't say enough great things about the place, this family and their staff.
