I stayed at the Villa Cecile for one night whilst on business in Geneva. It is probably 45 minutes by car from downtown Geneva and is located in a beautiful location on the shore of Lake Geneva itself. The location is heavenly. Yvoire is a small village nestled aside a wooded escarpment above a yacht marina. There are a number of restaurants located on the water's edge.
Villa Cecile itself is sat back from the water atop the wooded area. The Villa is quiet and beautifully maintained. The rooms have a 'nouveaux rustic chic' about them and are well appointed with modern bathrooms and facilities. My room (18) had doors opening on to a small balcony which in turn looked over a garden. I didn't have the time to use the spa facilities but the pool area looked clean and modern.
I enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Dinner was splendid and modern in its styling, but was a little too expensive. I'm not a wine drinker and there was unfortunately a limited selection of beers available also. I settled on the ubiquitous, if not a little boring 1664. Breakfast was basic with the usual selection of continental options.
Overall, I loved my short but sweet stay. I intend to go back with my wife to expore a little further. The hotel has a wonderful charm and is in a perfect location.
