Hostal Triskel

Loved Hostel Triskel and the ambience Yayo and his cat Buddha have cultivated. Most everyone there was like me ~ planning to stay 2-3 days and staying a week. So book ahead. Pisco Elqui is a wonderful town to visit and the hostel is warm, friendly, quiet, clean, and the perfect place for relaxing and rejuvenating from your travels. You can also do healing and meditation sessions next door with Loto of Tierra Pura (I spent 3 days with her and LOVE her). Plan to stay a while and take in the silence, skies, fresh fruit (literally, pomegranate, olive, and fig trees and grape vines on the property you can pick!), and fun-loving travelers that are attracted to this place.

I stayed here three nights in December which is definitely a quiet time in Pisco de Elqui. The town was not in full swing but there was still a couple of restaurants open and tours available. The hostel is a couple of minutes up a side street off the main drag which made it nice and quiet. I had been offered room #5 when I made the reservation on-line but when I got there it was occupied so they gave me #4 which was smaller, darker and the small window was on the entrance passage. Unfortunately I didn't speak up and just accepted the second rate room for the same price as the one promised me. The garden is really nice with a couple of out side seating areas a fire pit and two hammocks. The breakfast was really boring with bread, jam, yogurt, juice coffee or tea. The kitchen was open to cook but there was one small bar fridge standing on the counter which really cut down on the limited counter space. All in all not a bad place to stay.

Definitely recommended!

1) The place is very, very clean and inviting and the owner is extremely pleasant and helpful. The whole property is very couzy and rustic. Use of the kitchen and dining room.

2) The garden in the backyard with different fruit trees is a delight. There are tables with benches and a pit to make fires in the evenings.

3) They rent bikes, same price as everywhere in town. It's worth taking a ride to the Artisan village "pueblo artesanal de Horcon" or you can be more adventurous and go to the end. A nice thing about the ride is that it is so much easier on the way back.

Hope you enjoy your stay!
