Mylene and Christian have created a truly wonderful place to stay. We felt at home as soon as we got there. Our room (Claire de Lune) was very comfortable and clean, and we slept soundly every night (four nights in all) in the comfortable bed. The breakfasts each morning on the enclosed patio were excellent, and for the last night we were there, we ordered dinner and it was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. My wife was developing an upset stomach as we arrived on the firt day, and Christian and Mylene prepared a tasty dish or rice and some soup for her, which enabled her to bounce back quickly. They are such genuine, caring people, and their wonderful dog Grenade (French for 'pomegranete) won our hearts with her sweet disposition. We toured all the Normandy Beaches each day, and coming back to Le Mas Normand each evening felt like coming home. Merci Beacoup, Mylene and Christian

Room Tip: They are all good.

We stayed at Le Mas Normand for 3 nights in May 2013. We used this as our base to explore the D-Day Beaches in Normandy. The D-Day beaches extend over 65 miles along the coast of Normandy. Most of these beaches and memorials can be reached by following D-514 road which follows the coast. The gypsy cottage has a queen size bed with an in-suite bathroom and shower, and a 2nd room with 2 "cubbies" which would be great for kids. Our Host Mylene and her husband were vey gracious, and helpful with directions and restaurants in the area. The cottage has a deck with chairs and a table. We would pick up some cheese, bread and wine and enjoy the the yard with the "Pommergranite"......he is the owners Golden Retriever. Mylene also offers a dinner if she can get at least 4 people that are staying with her, and her husband is a chef (look up the website and there is a sample menu). The B&B is located between Gold and Juneau Beaches. Oh, coffee comes in a bowl (Local Norman way of drinking it)

We agree with everything visitors have said about this Band B. it is unusual, quirky, friendly ....and far better I expect when the sun shines! We had no sun in Normandy this year either on the way down or now on the way back!
But in the attic room there is a comfy bed and a lovely bathroom. The breakfast is the best in Normandy! Different sorts of bread, lots of jams, large coffee cups, cheese and fruit.
Lovely Mylene pointed us in the direction of the best restaurants locally and we were not disappointed.
But it rained nearly all day........

Room Tip: Lots of narrow steps to ' au Clair du lune'....the attic room.

We stayed for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Mylene and Christian are excellent hosts and provide fantastic breakfasts with home-made preserves and an ever changing range of fresh fruit and local cheeses. However, we didn't get a chance to sample their gourmet evening cooking while we were there, our only disappointment. If you're thinking of booking maybe check this in advance. You may need to drive to Arromanches or Courseulles to eat in the evening. The bed was comfortable and the room tastefully furnished in farm-house style. It provided a relaxing base from which to explore historic cities like Caen and Bayeux, and the D Day beaches - only a few 100 metres from the property you are on the coast and able to explore the locations of Gold and Juno beaches on foot. You might also be able to take Grenade, the lovely golden retriever, with you!

Room Tip: Try the gypsy caravan if you have small children - they'll love it. Mylene will recommend a room...

This was our second visit to Le Mas Normande. This time, we made sure it was more than one night! All the reviews are full of well-deserved praise for the this lovely, quaint homestead which Mylene & Christian have lovingly created in the Normandy countryside. This time we were up in the roomy attic . . . well-worth two flights of stairs!
The rooms are homely and comfortable with rustic touches and plenty of hot water. Breakfasts in the roomy conservatory are a feast of home-made jams and cakes, French toast and breads and different beverages. It's a great opportunity to meet fellow guests.
If you're lucky, we recommend seeing if you can have an evening meal cooked by Christian. This depends on teaming up with fellow guests. Superb!
Wake up to birdsongs and peace. Ideally placed for the Normandy beaches and museums with good restaurants a short drive away.
We hope it won't be too long before we book again!
Mylene can advise on local places to visit and eat.

Room Tip: (No swimming pool or fitness centre! Walks and little stream running alongside the garden!)

We just returned from a much to short trip to France and stayed at La Mas Normand for one night. This was our second time at Le Mas Normand, and it was even better than I remembered. Our room was very bright, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Don't miss the lavender honey! Christian and Mylene provide wonderful hospitality, in a great farmhouse and beautiful area of France. Next time we are staying longer!

We took my parents to Normandy for a vacation and spent 2 days at Le Mas Normand... we had a fantastic time and found it very relaxing. We had wonderful breakfast each morning prepared for us... and we also had dinner one night that was out of this world. One of the best meals we had on our trip. We found a great little spot near a small stream on the side of the property and had a few bottles of wine and case of 1664.. it was fantastic. Both of the rooms were very nice and my parents were upstairs in a larger suite that was great. The inn keepers were fantastic and really made us feel at home... we can't wait to go back.
