Words cannot describe how spectacular this place is! With people as beautiful as the scenery this hotel is truly an 11 out of 10.

From our first e-mail contact with Emilio to our day of departure everything was perfectly surreal and we really had a feeling that it was special. Outstanding food, excellent housekeeping, centrally located and great prices are to mention only a few of the amenities that we found. We also experienced a very authentic personal service.

We really had the feeling we were expected and they welcomed us with our names. We didn't feel like we were just another tourist, more like a friend. If we needed help it wasn't hard to ask. Upon our arrival I was having stomach problems and Chef Gonzo baked home made breads and cooked suitable meals until I was feeling better. The room we got was spacious and had a view to the 7 colored mountain. It was clean and well kept. We didn't miss a TV and had a chance to get connected to the internet in the restaurant. Overall, it's hard not to be impressed with everything they did for us.

The hostel is lovely and made more so by the staff. I was ill during my stay (not from their food but from someone elses!) and they were so helpful making me food that was easy on my stomach. Also our bus over the border got cancelled and they were so helpful making calls and making sure we got the information we needed - even with limited Spanish / English on both parts.

Room Tip: look out for the llamas that mow the lawn! So cute and no trouble at all.

...it has a bit of a motel style when you reach the parking lot but it is a nice and closed hosteria lot which is surrounded by creatively furbished rooms. Ours had a great view on the colored mountain and was very clean and cosy. The staff is very friendly and helpful and one of the team members speaks excellent English. We can really encourage to stay at this place and help these guys to be successful. They deserve it!

If yoú're travelling around Salta you MUST stop at Purmarca, a beautiful little village still unspoilt by tourism (at time of writing!). I cannot recommend enough this little hotel. Simple, clean and confortable rooms and a friendly staff, it is perfect place to disconnect and while away a couple of days. Perfect for unwinding and forgetting the stresses of the big city.

I have been welcomed very well in El Refugio. I was tired and they proposed me a delicious dinner. The bedroom and bathroom are excellent, both decorated with a local discrete style. The bed is highly comfortable. Breakfast without anything pretentious, but with all the good things i needed to start a nice day! I unfortunatly satyed only one night...
