The Old Vicarage
Ranked #10 of 17 Wellington B&B and Inns
Reviewed April 21, 2012

After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor I found it a bit difflicult to choose where to stay in Wellington but I am delighted with my choice of the Old Vicarage. Once I found the car park - to the rear of the house round the back - not directly from Exeter Road - all was very plain sailing. A wizard welcome, an absolutely spotlessly clean room, instant wifi connection. Very high powered excellent shower in totally clean en-suite bathroom and freshly decorated bedroom, very comfortable bed too. What else is needed - well not a lot but the breakfast deserves individual mention! First time in a B&B to get a menu - yes it mentioned all the cooked items you might expect but it also listed the provenance of all the products too and thus broke a resolution not to eat too much! It was superb. Cannot recommend the Old Vicarage highly enough especially for only £40 for the experience! Would certainly re-visit if in the area.

Having watched a highly amusing programme (with a serious point I think) on the impact of Tripadvisor on small hotels and b&bs whilst staying here on business, I felt inclined to write a review. I think I'll keep it short as I want this place to be available next time I have to stay in the area...but it was almost spooky the owners knew my favourite cereal and brand of yoghurt. Absolutely spot on for me, friendly owners and super value too.

I stayed here with my girlfriend for a long weekend of 4 nights. We wanted somewhere close to enough to the Blackdown Hills but didn't want somewhere too far from town. We received and warm and friendly welcome, and enjoyed a great stay and thoroughly enjoyed the locally sourced breakfast. Even close enough to the coast to get a good days surfing in north Devon. So nice to come back to the jacuzzi bath too!

Would thoroughly recommend for anyone.

We only stayed for a couple of nights whilst visiting our daughter who lived in Wellington just down the road. We were made to feel very welcome and the room was of a high standard and a very comfortable bed too. The breakfast is very varied and enjoyable with lots to choose from. Definitely a place to stay at again which we will do on our next trip down there. We even got to take home load of cookig apples as there were too many on the trees
