O Curral (meaning "a farm enclosure") is a special place. Run by a young family, the owners are friendly and very willing to please. You can eat within the charming farm building, very rustic and charming, or outside on the patio under attractive canopies (where one can smoke is he or she desires.) There are some wonderful traditional dishes, but I always go for the enormous streak, which is cooked to perfection, succulent and juicy. It is difficult to find in Portugal "American-style" thick steaks. Usually you get in most restaurants thin cut small steaks that are very easily over-cooked. Not at O Curral! The dish comes with delicious small roasted potatoes and vegetables. The house wind is excellent and the value for the money is very good. The ambiance, service, and quality of food and drink combine to make O Curral a real find, and one to which you will want to return again and again.
