We just spent one night here on a stopover. We stayed in a family room which was simple but very comfortable. The restaurant is very popular, and deservedly so. There is a good range of local wines by the glass. The Riesling was particularly delicious. The decor is very pleasant and staff were friendly, but rushed off their feet.

Spent 1 night there in october of 2012. Very stylish, authentic and friendly hotel. It's kinda of family bussiness so you feel like you came to visit your grandmother in the village :) Nobody speaks english there so you can come with some challenges but overwall it's great experience to stay outside the city in the middle of grape fields. Very rich breakfast. Loved the room - got one double bed and one single bed when booked a twin room.

Room Tip: On the higher floor you would get better views to grape fields,

We stayed here for 2 nights during a cycling holiday in Alsace. The staff were particularly helpful and welcoming. Our room was pleasant , overlooking the vines, although the bathroom needs updating with grouting and seals round the shower showing signs of age. The food was good and well cooked and the service in the restaurant was excellent. I don't like seeing dogs in the dining room, but know that it is accepted practice in many French hotels.

This is not the type of hotel I usually stay al, most of the time I stay in the middle of a city when in Europe. So maybe some of these complaints wont change your mind. For example, if you don't want to eat at their over priced restaurant you must drive at least 20 minutes to Selestat to find a restaurant. Maybe if you are from Alsace it wouldn't be a problem, but it was very hard to find the hotel and then after dinner find our way back.
The breakfast was very good, but they were very rude, when I went to get another roll , the waitress lady who was hovering over the buffet table looked irritated. And I'm not one of those annoying Americans who eats a lot! I just had a cup of tea (besides that roll) actually.
The room was nice, bathroom a bit run down, and the views were beautiful! I was a bit disgusted with all the dread flies in the hallway, it was so gross, and I hope that management cleaned it up!
If you have kids, there is a wonderful playground/basketball court/skate park that was totally empty our whole stay and our family took advantage of it.
Overall the place was nice, but I would be more likely to stay in Selestat (or Strasbourg) next time i'm in this part of France.

Six of us arrived at the end of a very hot and hilly 24 km walk and sat in a lovely garden with cool beers.
Our room - 19 - was very pleasant but the bathroom needed some attention as the showere hose leaked badly and the sink tap only dribbled.
Service at the bar was poor and seemed amateurish but dinner was excellent and of the highest quality.Breakfast, too, was of a very high standard and an excellent start to another long day`s walking.
I would definitely stay here again.

We stopped here on our drive down to Italy and would like to come back. We arrived very late due to horrendous traffic but still had a very nice meal. The setting is lovely and quiet, and we can definitely recommend going into the village afterwards to buy some wine. We did!

It's at the very beginning of the small village of Dieffenthal, quite, view on the vineyard and the Vosges (you can see some castle ruins up there). We got a big room with balcony, confortable, only the double bed was small (standard french size). Bathroom with bath with removable shower. Buffet breakfast: very good yougurt, fruit and cake, the rest on average.
You need to have a car, and then you are right half way Colmar/Strasbourg, on the "Wine Road" with all the most picturesque villages nearby.
Didn't try the semi-gastronomic restaurant.

Room Tip: Suite rooms with balcony are larger and only marginally more expensive.
