Our host at Agriturismo Fondo Chipollate recommended this restaurtant and we were really pleased with it. It's quite an adventure driving up to this beautiful hilltop town, with steep sinuous roads, and we made a wrong turn when we got into the center so with our little Italian phrase book we asked for directions of several men standing on the corner. One of them jumped in his car and told us to follow him. That was the third time we've had such help from a Sicilian! The restaurant itself is in a lovely little piazza way at the top near a little church. A former wine store, it has a very low key, local atmosphere and just a few indoor tables - there is also an outdoor section but it seemed a bit chilly at night. We sat at a wall lined with wine bottles, and really enjoyed the local wine that the waitress recommended. The food had a great home-cooking essence. We had learned by that time that we can't each eat an entire menu of appetizer, primi and secondi, so because we shared several dishes and we got to enjoy a good sampling and not overstuff ourselves. The other patrons were Italians.
