“Great break while exploring the coast.”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

We had spent the morning exploring the coast and stopped on the recommendation of a new acquaintance. The food was good and relatively affordable. Another milkshake that was easily drank through the straw. They don't make them thick enough in Ecuador, but I'm going to keep trying them.

“Best Restaurant In Bahia”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. Reasonable prices.

It is owned by and American gentleman and his very charming Colombian wife, and at least one of them is usually there. I have been to Bahia many times and this is the only restaurant that I will eat a salad or anything uncooked. Yea, sanitation is an issue in this part of the world. The bar is well stocked and and they make a mean Margarita!

Oh, they also have the best free WiFi in the area. Enjoy

“I personally find the restaurant ok in a sea of mediocrity.”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

I lived in Bahia for several months. The Puerto Amistad was ok.....in my opinion. Not great by American standards but it does deserve a star for it's location in town and one for being better than the very pitiable offerings of Bahia and I guess a star for the nice Columbian lady who is one half of the ownership and does an outstanding job making the wheels turn.
I ate many meals there and found them fairly palatable and the ambience excellent. The service was mediocre almost continually and never more than competent. Having been in the food service business on more than one occasion and friends with many restraunteurs, I can, without rancor say that there was actually two places in town I enjoyed more but none rate any higher overall. Location, location, location.

“Outstanding!”
Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

We went because it was "Gringo" dinner night and we wanted to get to know more folks. I ordered the pork BBQ ribs because I LOVE ribs. Well, they were outstanding!! Fall off the bone, cut with a fork, mouth watering, scrumptious !!!!!!!!! Some of the best I've had around the world! The location and atmosphere is near perfect and service fantastic! Owned by an American and his Columbian wife, they have created an almost perfect place to gather and enjoy a great meal. The pricing was a bit higher than normal but so very worth it! And, it's still a good bit less expensive than anywhere in the US for quality and quantity!

“Excellent upscale restaurant”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

Best location to eat, great services. with a nice bar. beautiful views and scenery. your 20 meters from the downtown traffic but don't notice it as the place sits out above the water.
