Arrived and the weather wasn't brilliant, so we were a bit worried we'd chosen the wrong resort after staying at kamarina last year which was very hot, but we have had the best week and will be coming back! There is so much to do we have played tennis and had expert friendly coaching, and this morning we tried windsurfing and were so impressed with our instructor Roman, who speaks excellent English and gave us a really fantastic experience even though we were complete beginners, he was great. His patience made all the difference to complete novices and we had the best time. We're looking forward to trying paddle boarding tomorrow! 10/10 for resort and staff, the weather is perfect if you want to be busy or lie around by the pool/beach.

We had a superb time at the resort (family, kiddies 2yrs and 4yrs) - it is beautifully located and we enjoyed the beach, pool and cycle rides plus local attractions. Our kiddies were too young for Kids Club but this was not a detraction at all. Food is superb and plentiful, evening entertainment for the kids is good and all the staff were so friendly and enthusiastic. We speak basic French and had no problem communicating with staff and other holiday makers. My only gripe: like many places in France, there is no air con in the rooms and they are VERY badly ventilated so we had some uncomfortable nights when it was hot. Not much you can do about this. Because of this I would think twice about returning. Pity because we loved the rest of it.

La Palmyre is a good location for outdoor activities such as cycling or golf. Plus the food is very good, the sea food in particular. However, the weather is inevitably less reliable than at most other Club Med resorts, and the on site facilities and service standards are not up to the standards of either Opio or Punta Carna, our two previous Club Med experiences. We would not recommend this resort for English families with young children.

I will give high marks for this Club Med at La Palmyre.

First the positives:
-The staff is amazing and contribute tremendously to the festive and friendly atmosphere of the place. A big shoot out for Thibaut at the Mini Club for his kindness and devotion to children, to Willy for his great sense of humor (I loved his costumes in the morning!) and Marco, the village chief for his energy!
-The programming and activities are amazing. This is a paradise for kids. The mini club offers all kinds of activities. My child did sailing, archery, sports, swimming, games, shows etc...
-I loved the site: a beautiful beach, a great path to bike and run, clean and shaded premises, great pool etc...
- Did I mention the atmosphere? it was the best!
-Nice rooms, clean and quiet
The minuses
-The main restaurant is too noisy and looks too much like a cafeteria. Not restful to eat there.
- The food is average, not great. The aperitif snacks are terrible (really cheap)
- The sailing instructor at the sailing club was condescending (his name is Manu)--I do not think he was a GO
- This is not a place for folks looking for a quiet vacation. It is a resort for kids.
- The train shuttle to the sailing club takes forever. You are better off walking there.

This resort is very nicely placed directly close to the beach without any open roads. Plenty of bicycle reserved roads and a nice not crowdy sandy beach.
The resort is very large in the pine wood and well secured so you can leave your kids running without any danger.
The Team does a great job to make you stay pleasant, especially Willy who does a very nice and kind entertainment, from the morning breakfast greetings to the after lunch quiz games and other parties. He is the "soul" of the resort, without his entertainment, the resort would really lose something.
Also nice, the "fleur de sel" second restaurant which offers a far quieter place for the all meals. Thanks to Aurélien who nicely manage this place.
The management is very present to check if everything is fine, Marco and Kassim are very friendly and available.
Sole thing to improve, the customer service spirit of the reception staff who answers your questions, but doesn't really try to find a solution when they don't know (but this is true for all resorts I have been, seems to a training problem for these persons to admit they don’t know and redirect to somebody else. Some smiles would also be welcomed). Emily in charge of gold members knows very well he job and is very nice and helpful. The mini-club has a lot of nice animations for the kids and they are very well entertained.
Overall a nice place to recommend and enjoy the wonderful surroundings, and the fun, friendly and animation of Willy.

If you Imagine a holiday at the beautiful french atlantique coast with its broad beaches just forget about it the moment you hit the BOOK NOW button. There is only a small, shallow, public beach behind a street and a high fence. For all nautique sports you will be driden to the next very touristique village where the sports centre of club med is located. Housing: You will live in concrete huts basically furnished in a pine wood but very close to one of the major streets so if you live in a metropole you will definitely feel at home. Guests: Families with small children and grandparents - 98%. Evenings: Three songs tipical club med line dancing and the evening is over. Pool: Full of children and 70 years old practicing aqua gymnastics.
