“Perfect Guesthouse”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2011

Warm welcome, lovely room with doors on to patio and good sized ensuite bathroom, comfortable bed, fluffy bath robes, excellent choice of drinks in the room, good selection of wine and access to a reasonably sized dvd library for free. Breakfast was also fantastic, excellent choice and cooked to perfection.

Seems expensive at face value for a B&B, but the accommodation really is of hotel standard, and the hospitality far surpasses most hotels I've stayed at.

And, if you leave your phone charger, they'll post it back to you!!

...that you remember: the swimming pool-deep bath; the Lindt chocolates on the pillow; the delicious home-cooked meal and the lovely little toiletries. Sara and Pat have attention to detail and hotel-levels of sophistication down to a T but without compromising the homely feel of their gorgeous home and guest accommodation. Having arrived after a day of driving around unfamiliar territory, I was welcomed with a cup of tea and a warm smile - much appreciated! My room (Honeysuckle) was furnished with everything I could need for my overnight stay, warm and comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Highly recommended and would definitely return for leisure as well as work purposes.

We had to arrive earlier than expected, we were made to feel welcome to sit in the conservatory and read the wide selection of magazines until our room was ready. We were upgraded to the Poppy suite as it was my husbands birthday and our first choice of normal rooms was not available, this was the the first indication of how good the stay would be! The room was amazing, thought had been taken to every tiny detail, from the free internet to menus for local restaurants. As you have to go outside to move from rooms to main building there were umbrellas available.
The bathroom was so good i could have spent a day in there, a bath, separate shower cubicle and duel sinks with plenty of toiletries, all beautifully lit.
The views from the room were lovely, and very private too as upstairs no one could see in. I have seen comments about the closeness to the main road, i can say that during my stay i did not hear any noise, even with having one window open.
Breakfast was plentiful, with a wide choice, including home made bread!
You can see why this is a 5 star guest house, from the friendly owner to the luxury rooms. I can't wait to go back!

We stayed here for a weekend over the easter bank holiday.
Cannot fault any aspects of the hotel, from the breakfast which was beautifully homemade, to the poppy Suite which was brilliant.
Rooms were well equipped with nice touches like fluffy bathrobes and towels, to the fresh milk, and choice of drinks.
We had an evening meal brought to our room, which was no trouble for the owners.
We stayed with our 6 month old baby, and the cot provided by the hotel was very comfy and he slept (well like a baby:-)).
Grounds are fantastic, and what you would expect from an award winning hotel. Room was very luxurious, and the large lounge was perfect for the toys and items that come with a baby.
Owners were very friendly, and couldnt do enough for us, and were full of useful information about the local area.
Definitely would stay here again, and would recommend to anyone as i cant fault it in any area.

We were lucky enough to score a night at Sara and Patrick's lovely guest house on our way to the Lake District and beyond. We felt welcome and important and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Sara has added lovely little touches like chocolates in your room and fresh milk in your fridge and the fluffiest towels (my weakness!). The conservatory is a delightful room full of light that lets you watch the birds at the feeders and the weather outside. Breakfast was a joy with lots of lovely local produce. The only down side was the lack of consistent wifi connection in your room although its freely available in the common areas.

Sara and Patrick are the ultimate hosts from the moment you arrive. They are genuinely warm and welcoming. Their accommodation is outstanding throughout. We had a suite - it was luxurious and far exceeded the quality of many of the (so called good quality) hotels we have stayed in. The facilities are outstanding and immaculate; parking is secure; secured, locked storage was also provided for our bikes.

Breakfast was sublime, all good quality goods mostly from the local area - all cooked with skill and presented beautifully.

Service and accommodation and location are all gold standard and we felt as though we received a gold standard consistently during our stay.

Sara and Patrick have excellent knowledge of the area and gave helpful and good advice on activities, cycle routes and places to eat.

This place is a stunning find and is a secret that nees to be shared.
