Food was expensive but enjoyable.
Had a lunch one day but extremely poor quality.
Not particularly clean, this place is extremely busy pub and music venue at weekend therefore smells of beer

Not sure how to reply to this confusing review, glad you enjoyed it but sorry that you did not, did you address the matter with staff and or manager?
We are a popular and busy place on the weekend but I would say that I have never had a complaint about the place being dirty and or smelling of beer.

Hadn't been here for a couple of years but remembered that the last time we visited the food was good so dediced to meet here with my friends for lunch. Staff were very freindly and nice but the food was very average if a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. Chips were greasy and tastless, sandwiches ok, the starter that we all shared had a terrible after taste. There were a couple of Gastro options on the menu but wouldn't call them gastro choices more like bog standard (weatherspoon quality) options. Wouldn't bother going again and it's now put me of chips (which probably isnt a bad thing!!!).

Hi
Thank you for your review. I am sorry that our chips were not up too standard, we do cook them homemade and try to make them the best we can without having to go down the frozen route for our products. Not sure what starter could have left a bad aftertaste, did you take this up with the staff at the time.I am not sure if wetherspoons serve a Cylinder of Duck Confit as a starter.

Me and a mate, on a business trip to the area came across this pub and sat down for lunch. I had the tariaki pork with cuscus. It was delicious. Very well made. My mate had the steak and kidney pie that was very good as well.

Its been a good couple of years since iv been to the Plough. A group of 9 girls and myself went on the 20th of September for my 21st birthday before heading into Rhyl. We all went upstairs to have our food in what i must say is a lovely dining room! i ordered the Duck and it came perfectly cooked with leek mash, it was delicious, the other girls had only good things to say about their food also, except one had cold chips but they were replaced very quickly with an apology.

We finished up and went downstairs for a drink before heading in to town. They have a DJ on Saturday nights which we were all unaware of, so we decided to stay a little longer to see how it went and people started to arrive for the night, the room at the back is cleared of tables to make a dance floor and that's where we stayed until almost 1am, we had a great night in there, fantastic music and he played all our requests, I'm sure he was sick to death of us by the end but he was the perfect gentleman. Thanks to Ste the DJ! bless him, made our night. Can't wait to come back in December for our office Christmas party. Thanks you all the staff at the Plough it was great! x

We have visited The Plough several times and have always enjoyed the meals here, good quality and portions - tonight was no exception. One of the Chef's Specials was a fish stew which was really delicious. We asked for a little bread to soak up the sauce and were treated to two great tasting little loaves. Yum Yum.The service was very good with the staff very polite but not too much in your face.
