“Walking holiday with Hike Pyrenees”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013 via mobile

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at hotel Tierra de Biescas as part of a hiking holiday with Hike Pyrenees.
Everything has exceeded our expectations, the beautiful town, the excellent facilities of the hotel, the outstanding and caring service and the delicious meals.
Hike Pyrenees has provided the perfect walking holiday for us. Following the morning briefings about the planned walks, Hike Pyrenees provides transfers to and from each of the walking sites.
The knowledge of the guides provides a running commentary on the history, wildlife, flora etc of the Valley.
Thank you to Phil James and guides Hanna and Ken from Hike Pyrenees and the hotel staff.
It was worth travelling from Australia for the experience of hiking in the Pyrenees.

A well designed, comfortable and modern hotel in the middle of a very small town, very convenient access to the Ordesa park of the Pyrenees. Was a very nice surprise to find such modern hotel in this area. We booked originally one night and based on the good expreince we stayed additional night.

In a perfect position for exploring the High Northern Pyrenees, this hotel is set in the delightful village of Biescas. Its very Spanish and very friendly with all the facilities that you would require The staff are excellent and made me most welcome.

An excellent breakfast and three course evening meal, with choices. The rooms were well apportioned and perfect for a good night's rest and recuperation. I was even moved on a Friday evening as there was a wedding party and the hotel thought it might be too noisy where I was. (it was noisy!) The room I was moved to was quiet and again very well proportioned!

I was part of a walking group and the pool and sauna was welcomed by many of us having trekked through some of the best mountain scenery in Europe.

Highly recommended for those who want something authentically modern Spanish in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Room Tip: Just ask at the reception if not satisfied! (you wont be asking)

The Tierra de Biescas is not a typical rural Spanish hotel : it is very modern, quite minimal in style and lacking in a bit of character. But this is more than made up for by the friendly staff, excellent service, great cooking and high standard of rooms. It also has a good outdoor pool and very smart indoor jacuzzi pool & sauna. Rooms are modern, very clean and comfortable and most have good views of the nearby hills. The main restaurant serves contemporary European food which is expertly cooked and very well presented using lots of fresh ingredients. We were there in June which is clearly low season as the hotel (and village) was very quiet which meant only a few tables were occupied in the restaurant and so it lacked atmosphere. Parking is certainly not a problem at this time of year !
Overall we really enjoyed our stay in the hotel and would definitely return if in the area in future.

Room Tip: Avoid the corner rooms as they seem to be rather smaller

If you are looking for somewhere relaxing and comfortable to spend the night in this area, look no further. Biescas itself is small, and of limited interest, but the hotel is more than comfortable, and a good stop-over point on the road along the Pyrenees. No parking, as other reviewers have noted, but since the on-street parking is right outside the hotel, in the quietest area you can imagine, I frankly don't see that as a problem. Other reviewers have commented on too small bathrooms - not a problem we had, having booked a superior room, the bathroom was enormous. The only complaint I would make is that the breakfast, although abundant, was of mediocre quality. Views were mostly lovely: there is a small hydroelectricity plant tucked into the mountain to the left of the hotel, but it is not intrusive or obvious. Internet worked well, the hotel decor was attractive, room lighting was good - all in all a more than satisfactory stay!

Room Tip: 201, superior, was excellent, with views in 2 directions and a balcony

The hotel is beautiful, modern, fully functional. The staff went out of their way to help with services, directions, and general information. The food in the restaurant was excellent. My room was quiet and spotless. The village of Biescas is charming. Wi fi was spotty in the room, but excellent in the reception area. I would certainly stay here again.

We stayed here after getting a flat tyre on our motorbike and couldn't make it to the hotel we should of stayed in 150 miles from here. We arrived here after a long day very hungry and fed up with the days events to receive a warm welcome. There is no car park here but we was happy to leave the bike parked on a very quiet street outside the hotel knowing it was safe. The room we had was 103 which over looked the pool and garden area. The pool was empty but there is a small indoor pool, sauna and gym. The room was very clean and in excellent condition with all the little extras. We decided to eat at the hotel and really enjoyed the food and drink. The bed was very comfy and the room had air con and a ceiling fan. After a great nights sleep we had the buffet breakfast which cost 8 euros and was worth it. We liked the hotel so much that the following week we cancelled a hotel room in France at Pau and stayed here again instead. After hours of riding through the mountains on the N260 and seeing some amazing sights when we arrived at the hotel for a our 2nd stay as soon as we had unloaded the bike we was given robes and headed for a swim and a sauna. Again we had a great meal here and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff are very helpfull and friendly. We booked our room through booking.com and got this room for around £56 and it was worth it. We would stay here again when we will be touring around the Pyrenees. We had great views from our hotel room each time we stayed and i loved the design of the bathrooms.
The hotel is a lovely relaxing place, very modern and clean
