“Stayed in Hazel Grove in 2006 and came back in 2012.”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

In 2006 I took a trip around Ireland for 6 days and stayed 1 night at each place. When I planned my second trip to Ireland this year my first option to visit the West was Hazel Grove for the good memories I had from this nice B&B. I was glad to find that everything remains as in my first visit: Rooms very clean, breakfast excellent and above all Ann and Jerry hospitality which makes one feel as being at home.

Hazel Grove was our second stop on a tour of Ireland. The accommodation was brilliant. Although only the 2 of us we were given a family room which was spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt and if you didn't want the traditional full Irish choices such as scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were available. Although disappointed with Cong as a place to eat in the evening, Ann's B&B more than made up for this!

Ann and Jerry run excellent professional B&B. Rooms are large and immaculately clean, as hosts they are very welcoming, scones and tea on arrival etc etc and in the kitchen Ann excels as the breakfasts were amazing all is home made as was much appreciated by myself and family. We would certainly stay there again if we return to Cong.

I recently stayed at this B&B with my husband and two children. The room was decorated beautifully, very spacious and spotlessly clean. We found the hospitality excellent that we received from Ann. She had no issues with having our breakfast ready early as I had to work early that morning. She is most helpful with any local queries, ie directions, sites to see etc. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. Also the views from the breakfast room are amazing

This B&B was just right for us...the bedroom was very well appointed with lots of thoughtful extras...the place was extremely clean, the beds very fresh and the decor in very good condition.
Ann was extremely accomodating and did not mind us saying we would arrive after 10pm...on arrival, she greeted us with a warm welcome and left us with a menu for the breakfast where we could specify what we wanted and what time. In the morning, breakfast was served in a bright dining room with personal family pictures which was lovely. The breakfast was lovely and included homebaked scones and brown bread, still warm - delicious. Again Ann was very pleasant and warm, (especially with our little baby) as was her husband...we left feeling like we had really got that famous Irish welcome that tourists always talk about...it has made me think more about staying in B&B's in general.

Ms. Ann couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Recommended the best sites to see and had wonderful stories to tell. Our afternoon tea warmed us up and if that didn't do the trick, she had the blankets and towels warmed for us. Room was very spacious. Breakfast was delicious and had a spectacular view of the countryside. Would recommend to everyone and would go out of my way to stay there. Best B&B of our trip.

This B&B was a little bit out of the way, but we didn't mind, we were in Cong to relax! Once you get out of the town to the north west, there are plenty of signs to guide the way. It was a little too far to try and walk back into town, but Ann told us where to park and where the beautiful walks were.

The house was very nice. The sitting room was comfortable, and our room was perfectly clean. You can tell that Ann is very organized, and takes great care in preparing each room for guests. I felt a little like we were staying at grandma's house. I wanted to take my shoes off before I tracked mud in. :) We viewed two rooms. Both were very large and comfortable with ensuite bathrooms.

Breakfast was expertly cooked, there were several wide-ranging options as well as the standard bacon eggs and toast and there were also cereal and fruit options.

We would definitely stay again, and highly recommend!

Room Tip: Pay with cash.
