“Time long gone”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

Though in ruins, enough of the Abbey remains to imagine the monks' lives and that time long gone. I especially enjoyed the Monks' fishing house.

“Pleasantly peaceful with some great scenary”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

Well worth a look if you are in the area. Do make sure you take a walk to the river behind. There you will find the remains of a little stone "fishing hut" over the river next to a delightful bridge. We saw it on a sunny day and it was breathtaking!

“Anticlimax”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

If, on the way to Cong from Galway, you have visited Ross Errily Friary, the abbey at Cong is a complete anticlimax. A couple of walls, broken stairways and a half-decent park are not a patch on the friary. Sorry, Cong Abbey, but you just don't cut the clerical mustard.
