Description: This traditional thatched cottage provides a relaxed dining experience with a casual dress code in which to enjoy international and local dishes inspired by our owner Beatrice Tollman, including our delicious signature dish 'Chicken Peri Peri'. It is slow cooked in our rotisserie oven in the main dining area, so mouth-watering aromas greet you as soon as you enter the restaurant. At the front of the building you will now discover a beautifully manicured garden and extended patio area proving a spectacular area to enjoy lunch and sip a cocktail and enjoy the magnificent views of Ashford Castle in the distance. Open seasonally, it's just a short stroll over the bridge from the castle. Booking in advance is advisable to avoid disappointment.

During our stay, the guys didn't want to dine in the hotel restaurant. (didn't want to dress). We had dinner here every night of our 3 night stay! We never had a bad meal! I have to commend Emer. She was a delight! She even photo bombed us!! :)
The food was wonderful! I can't wait to return!!

We stopped here for a few minutes before our cruise boat left the a Ashford Castle and we stayed much longer as we truly enjoyed the wait staff. The bartender , Stephen, was friendly, attentive and knowledgable on educating us on whiskey in Ireland . He was helpful and talented, especially at making Irish a Coffee!! Thank you!

Great food in beautiful surroundings.
Probably the finest dining in the area. It wS a shame that there was a very noisy American party in the private dinning room who wanted us all to know that they were having a good time.

While visiting Cong for the day we walked up to the castle grounds. We saw this adorable cottage and as it was lunch time we stopped in. It was sunny so we sat outside. There are lovely plantings around the patio and umbrellas if you don't like direct sun. The food and drinks were very good and the service was friendly. A sudden shower began about halfway through our meal and the staff quickly re-seated us inside. The interior is also nicely decorated. My husband enjoyed the offerings on tap and I had a nice glass of wine. We were so comfortable we ordered dessert for my daughter so we could stay a bit longer. A great stop to eat while in Cong. One tip for those not staying at the castle. If you come in the main road, you'll have to pay a fee to enter the grounds. There are walking trails beginning next to the town. We walked through the forest and ended up on the castle grounds from the back way so we didn't have to pay. We got to see the castle up close, had lunch and walked out the main road. The church from the Quiet Man is on that road so you can see it as you go by.

Had dinner at Cullen;s at the Cottage after a stroll around the grounds of Ashford Castle. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty and good quality. We got complimentary home made breads with butter, oil and olive tapenade before our meal, which was delicious. I had Peri Peri chicken which was generous and succulent. The person with me had the burger which was delicious also. Did't have wine but it looked a little expensive.
