My wife, son, and friends spent two weeks touring Ireland and this was one of the highlights. The natural beauty of the lough and castle are best appreciated from the deck of the Isle of Innisfree, Captain Patrick is a great source of information, and John the mate pours a good, reasonably priced Guiness.

We were in Ireland during a hot spell. Lucky for us- better than cold and rainy. We took a lake cruise to escape the heat and to see the island with the church ruins. Price was 25 E though we saw in the hotel activity guide that it was 20 E. The captain was knowledgeable and knew a lot about the history of the island we visited. He had a gentleman from Cong, who had been an extra in the Quiet Man sing and play the accordion on the boat ride. He was fun and entertaining.
