“Good place for relaxing”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

I stayed in Moalboal beach resort with my friend for six days. Service in total was excellent and the staff was really nice. It is possible to just relax at the pool or walk/ rent a scooter/ get a tricycle and go to White beach. You can also rent kayaks from the resort.
They take good care of their guests. Food was really nice.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are in good shape. (I got to see a few different).

We stayed already 3 times in Moalboal Beach Resort and we liked it a lot.
Every time I bring different (mountain biking) friends there, and everybody loves it. Nice rooms perfect swimming pool and good food. Highly recommended for those who want to relax after a hard day on the bike

In our quest to give ourselves a summer vacation experience this year 2013, we decided to treat ourselves to Moalboal. Moalboal Beach-Resort is beautiful. It is located at Barangay Saadvedra, Moalboal, Cebu. The name suggests it is a house of good energy. Our experience, indeed, gave the house a lot of good energy! I simply love it! I honestly do.

The place gives a homey feel that you can't help but immediately feel comfortable and relaxed as soon as you enter the door. The rooms are cozy, huge, and very nice. The comfort room was one of the first few rooms I took a peek at and it passed with flying colors..hehhe

When travelling around the Philippines we came across this hotel as recommended. The owner Nicholas proved to be our new best friend on the islands. He helped us plan our next two weeks, nothing was to much trouble. Friendly staff and would be happy to return.

I stayed at Moalboal Beach Resort along with my 2 teenage kids in Dec 2012 for 3 Nights . My first impression was it was off the beatin track a little, though once there and bags unpacked im glad it was. My kids enjoyed the nice large clean pool and the owners pet Monkey was also a treat for them. The room was clean and large enough for the 3 of us and the bed was huge........The hospitality shown by the Manager/owner (Nickolaus Stumpf) was second to none and he also invited us along on one of his Harley Tours with a group of around 10 other bikers, a very enjoyable day had by all and we even got the opportunity to swim with whale sharks, a very big highlight for the kids. Overall i highly recommend this resort if you have family or even as a couple who want to kick back and relax, the staff are full of smiles like most filippinos and Nick is a great Host............will visit again on my future travels, Cheers Ivan :-)

Room Tip: The suites above the pool give you a good view and are very quiet away from the driveway...great pla...

I stayed at the Moalboal beach resort on Friday 5th April 2013 and would strongly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in a quiet, clean, first class and expertly run resort.

The room we stayed in was a traditional style room, air conditioned, very spacious with an en-suite bathroom. I chose the basic room but was still pleasantly surprised.

The location and views are breath taking, there is a large swimming pool with plenty of sheltered seating areas like little cabanas surrounding the area and you feel very secure there as there is a guard on the gate 24 hours a day.

There is a nice restaurant bar area that serves nice food and the service is superb, nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the owner has lots of time to sit and talk with his guests.

I would stay there again without hesitation and look forward to spending more time there in the near future

Room Tip: Depending on your budget and needs I would go for a basic standard room, it has a large bed and air...

The place is a bit in remote area. There are both positive and negative sides:
Positive: No pollution, fresh, tranquillity, green, sea view
Negative: Shopping, city life, shops, local food stalls, night life

Well, for me except shopping and local food stalls everything was perfect. But I would request management if they can provide bikes (bicycles) that would be wonderful. The room I stayed in was upgraded and the room was really big with balcony and nice sea view. If you are looking for white sand beach, and unblocked sea view then this is not the place. There is no sandy beach.

The hotel is small and wonderful homely atmosphere. It is not too much professional and you would love to interact with the hotel stuff who are really helpful. After evening there is nothing much to do, but we spend a lot of time chatting with the hotel owner Nikolaus. The hotel owner is a big plus for the hotel. His friendly attitude and suggestions I would definitely appreciate. The food is good and reasonably priced. You can ask for BBQ if you want to. We must say the owner to mention somewhere in the cafe that you provide BBQ facility. At night after snorkelling it would be perfect under open sky.

The hotel has couple of disadvantages being in a remote place:

Transportation: Directly arrange with the hotel as it might be difficult to find it out and extra cash if you want to book a cab yourself. 2500 Peso from Mactan Airport to the hotel one way charged by the hotel which is reasonable.

Wifi: Poor Wifi connection as no broadband cable, works on mobile 3G.

Toiletries: Bring your own

I would recommend this hotel for people who like to enjoy tranquility, fresh air, and relaxing atmosphere.
