“"A place to relax and unwind"”

The resort is 3 hours away from Cebu City, recommended for people who want to have a relaxing vacation... which means an unobstructed view of the ocean while lounging by the hammock, no tv sets inside the room, a place to commune with nature. You can of course play billiards, board games or read a book. Food and service is also great.

Hale Manna means "house of good energy" - and the name does not lie. My family had been raving about this place for months, and it was only during Holy Week of this year that I finally saw what the fuss was about. Like my sister says, it's the best place to do nothing.

Hale Manna is a lush, quiet secret paradise tucked in Southern Cebu. From the same family behind Handuraw, the resort resembles a large house that makes you feel like you have your own beach house. The common area has many sets of furniture, allowing many groups to have a spot to lounge around together.

You'll never find yourself bored during your stay. The resort has a billiard table, board games, kayaks, and a coral reef/fish sanctuary that is world-famous for diving or snorkeling. The rooms are spacious and clean. Some rooms have their own balconies with lots of furniture. It's very nice to just space out and look at nature around you.

I also love how they kept things natural. It isn't one of those resorts that looks like it got plucked right out of the city and dropped onto the coast. They built around and developed the nature around them. The landscaping is gorgeous! So many trees, hedges and flowers all around.

The resort area is so large that even if the whole place is fully booked, it doesn't feel crowded. Lots of gazebos and lounging furniture and hammocks all over the beachfront.

Food is delicious and the service is warm and friendly. They serve really delicious homecooked Filipino food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also have good options for snacks.

I highly recommend this resort for barkadas (groups of friends), families or couples who are looking for a nice quiet getaway. You can even book the whole place for an event (high school reunion, wedding, etc.)

Can't wait to go back!

Truly it is a House of Good Energy! Manna also means "Bread from Heaven". One can relish the array of colors of nature in God's creation in Hale Manna and be energized and spiritually enriched. Our heartfelt thanks to Tita Becky and her Staff for their warm welcome to us. It was an unforgettable experience which we will hold dear in our hearts.

All the Sisters wish you all the best. May others find their way to your place to experience your goodness and be captivated by God's beauty.

More God's power to you and to all your staff. God bless.

Evergrateful,
Sr. Fides, OSB & Sisters

My family chose Hale Manna for our Christmas vacation and were not disappointed. All of us agreed that we enjoyed our stay immensely. The room we had was extremely good value, spacious, and clean. All of the staff, as well as the owner, made us feel at home and went out of their way to help us and accommodate our requests. The amount we paid for meals was a bit expensive for local standards, but the food was so good that it more than makes up for it. Do try their Handuraw Pizza, which is so good that some of us had to stop ourselves from eating so others could have a piece!

It is a bit far from Panagsama (15-20 mins by tricycle), but perfect for anyone who is looking for rest and relaxation. It's great to stretch out in one of the chairs on the veranda with a book (or a laptop) and feel the great cross-breezes. But if you want to go to Panagsama, like my siblings and I did for diving, or anywhere else, the people at Hale Manna will be more than happy to arrange transport for you. Another drawback is the lack of a nice beach that you can stretch out on at the front, but again is answered by the excellent snorkeling available just at the front of the resort. Thicker stretches of beach are available a short walk from Hale Manna, or are just a 5-10 min tricycle ride away (which the resort can arrange for).

Highly recommended, and I very much look forward to returning here again in the future.

The first time we came to Moalboal was in July 2011. We enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking and relaxing in the garden after every sumptous meal prepared by Hale Manna's Chef Frank. The owner, Ms. Becky Smith made sure that all of her lifeguards are with us everytime we venture out into the waters. When i saw the varied marine life, i promised to myself that i'll come back to bring my children and grandson along. And so, by October 2011, we were there once again. Although it was the typhoon season this time of the year, the weather conspired to give us an enjoyable stay from sunrise to sunset. Only at night did it rained. My grandson, aged 5 loved animals and all sea creatures, he even named the resident lizard in the house, Greko. In the afternoons during low tide, he enjoyed counting all the starfishes of varied colors and sizes that he encountered. We even had the opportunity to go to Pescador Island and on our way watch the dolphins swim near our boat. At Pescador and the marine sanctuary, the family enjoyed snorkeling, found schools of sardines and deep sea divers. The water thereat was very cold but refreshing. To make the story short, guess who's promising to return this time? It's my grandson, with his Daddy in tow!

Room Tip: For a family of 6, room 7 is the best!

We had a wonderful long weekend stay at this resort. The place was very cozy and private, being a family-run resort. Our room was spacious and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the garden. The grounds were also quite tranquil, perfect for wandering around, with quiet spots for lounging with a book. We had free use of the kayaks and had a great time snorkeling around the coral garden right in front of the resort. The food was also very good - home cooking at its finest. The proprietress, Tita Becky Pestano, was very kind and accommodating, willing to help us make the most of our trip. Our only problem was on the last day, the resort had a problem with their water tank so we had no running water. The resort staff was kind enough to provide us with enough water to shower so this wasn't a problem. All in all, we had a wonderfully relaxed stay at this resort and would love to come back again.

If you are near Moalboal stay here. Hale Manna translates to House of Good Energy and lives up to its name. There are too many great things to say about this resort. The property, people and food were all top notch. We travelled around the Philippines and this was our favourite place.

The resort is off the beaten path, private, and away from other resorts, but had all the amenities to exceed our Canadian standards. We really appreciated the eco-friendly design and functionality.

We would enjoy the views and the sunset from the natural gardens and sitting areas or step down and enjoy the fish and coral while snorkeling or diving right off the property.

On top of all that, we enjoyed the delicious meals that were fresh and sourced locally while the warm and friendly staff made us feel at home.

This is the perfect place to relax, unwind and recharge the soul. Can't wait to get back.
