This is probably one of the most practical places you can stay at in Panagsama Beach. The rooms are clean with the washrooms being surprisingly spacious. The staff are all friendly and polite without being overbearing. The food is prepared fresh but served quickly, and I believe that their dishes taste much better than some of the more established restaurants in the area. We had kinilaw almost everyday. Eve the owner, may be very busy but she was never dismissive of people asking for assistance and was really hands-on in the hotel operations.
Beside the hotel is a dive shop owned by Nelson, the brother of the owner of the lodge. Together, they make up what I heard to be the only fully locallly-owned establishments in the area. We were recommended here after getting ridiculously expensive quotes from other hotels and lodges.
The location is excellent as it's just in front of the area where the sardine bowl is. You won't have to walk very far.
Nelson's dive shop could use new dive equipment though, and throughout all the dives no one gave us any briefing. However, we would like to point out that we were really taken good care of by our divemaster above and underwater. And while the equipment may be a bit dated, they are definitely safe and usable.
It's generally peaceful and really just a great place to spend your nights and service intervals.
