My girlfriend and i found this place while in Moalboal.
We had quite a few meals here.
Great variety of food available on the menu and reasonable prices.
Staff were wonderful :-).
Highly recommend the wood fire pizzas.
Unfortunately we couldnt get a room as they were fully booked but the rooms looked really nice and great location as they are on the beach.
The rooms are quite clean, they do clean every day, and every second day with bleach. The hot water works, although the pressure is not always strong. There is a room safe, a little porch to sit on. The beds are not hard, good to sleep on. There is an excellent reef just off shore, and the little part of the beach is swept every day. The restaurant is good as well. They also are part of Planet Action Adventure, and have great activities.
I stayed here for a week in March with 3 mates. Hotel was pretty small and quiet with a bar/restaurant out the front. Everything was always clean so no complaints there. No 5 star luxury but everything worked as it should. Big balcony outside or room where we spent quite a lot of time. We arranged canyoneering and swimming with whale sharks through the hotel and these were brilliant. At times a little scary but well worth it. Really made our trip. All the staff were very nice and helpful. We were very close to other bars and restaurants so everything was within staggering distance.
Tipolo was a great launching point for daily adventures in and around Moalboal. The beach front was small but a short distance into the water revealed the beautiful house reef, my husband and I explored this for hours using snorkels watch turtles, barracuda, sardines and even a diver or two go about their business. The room itself could use some upgrades, or at least a thicker mattress but I enjoyed watching the sun set from our small porch overlooking the garden pathway. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was just what we needed to start each days adventure, we thoroughly enjoyed all the fresh blended juices!
Great place to visit with family or friends, perfect snorkelling right out the front, with plenty of turtles to be seen, best we experienced in the Philippines. Accommodation basic but all you need, highly recommend Room 1! Food excellent especially pizza's. Activities offered are very well organised and great experience. Staff and manager super nice and helpful from the moment you arrive. Thanks for looking after us, we will be back!
