“Relaxing Resort!”

I will try not to exaggerate my comments but we have nothing but full of praises for this team. Service is fantastic! Nothing is too hard for them to do. We had a room facing the beach. It does not have a good strip of sand where you can lie down but it has a great cabana! Our favorite, overlooking the sea while you are in shade. We had dinner and breakfast there.

Ariel(Manager) and Dino(Dive Master) made our diving unforgettable. The reef is nothing spectacular though. I would suggest you to ask them to take you to a farther place to see really good stuff. Food is overpriced but delicious.

Our family of 3 including a 6 year old had a great time. The resort staff is wonderful and they helped to make our holiday amazing. Nearby dive sites were very good. I especially recommend the Marine Sancturary and Pescador Island. Low tide offers a great opportunity for children to experience a wide range of sea life. The staff also arranges numerous day trips to see gorgeous waterfalls and the amazing whale sharks. Cebu has so much to offer and the Blue Orchid is a wonderful place for visitors to begin. Sunsets from the property are amazing and the pool location is ideal for supervising children at play while parents relax nearby in shade or sun. Our room was very clean and offered great cooling when we all had a little too much heat from the sun. Food from the galley was wonderful as well.

Room Tip: All of the rooms offer good sea views. I recommend making a reservation early as supply is limited.

The resort is situated at the far north end of white beach, in a quiet remote area surrounded by trees and bush. If you want night life, noisy fun filled bars and music this is not the place for you. However if you want to get away from it all, swim in beautiful crystal clear sea, relax by the pool, play tennis, scuba dive, snorkel and enjoy the clear blue skies, warm sea breezes and good service, then the Blue Orchid resort is perfect. The rooms are spacious, and clean with good aircon and modest functional furnishing. Whilst we were there each evening we were blessed with the most amazing sunsets. The front of the resort has a small secluded "beach" area (man made), with sun loungers and palm trees for shade, perfect for reading and relaxing. Dependent on the tide you can walk (or swim) along the shoreline (through the sea) to the nearest soft white sandy beach. At low tide there's the whole reef to explore. We did this frequency with our children and were always rewarded with great finds (blue star fish, urchins, pincushion star fish, shoals of small brightly coloured fish, hermit crabs and clams). The resort has its own team of experienced diving instructors who initially gave us lessons in the pool. In the two weeks we were there we went snorkeling nearly everyday along the local reef and visited the nearby fish sanctuary in the resort boat many times. The snorkeling and scuba diving was amazing, with so much to see, the beautiful coral and variety and abundance of life was incredible. If only we'd had a underwtaer camera! The resort staff were very helpful and friendly, meals were all cooked freshly, with a wide variety of local and international dishes available. There are many day trips that are on offer, so there's plenty to do if you don't want to just relax by the pool. We visited Kawansan waterfalls, and swan through, around and under the falls, in wonderful cool clear water, well worth a visit. Our day trip to Oslob was definitely one of the highlights of the holiday. Not many people can boast that they have swam with whale sharks, but we did! 5 whale sharks infact. Its an early start, and quite a long day, but an incredible experience, never to be forgotten. The nearest small town for shopping and gifts is about a 30 minutes drive away, and the local transport is very entertaining. Its probably not the place to stay with very young children, but ours (10 & 14 years), really enjoyed their holidayas they were old enough to entertain themselves. The resort has excellent Wifi, and lots of books were read. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Room Tip: All the rooms look towards the sea, but if you are on the ground floor you may not we able to see it...

Stayed here feb2013 for 4 days. The place is ok, run by a young, friendly and very skilled hungarian lady. Everything is clean and very well organised. The breafast is not plentyful and some times left us hungry. The rooms are very spacious but do not have a sea view as it is obstructed by trees and there is definately no beach! The beach is a good 10 min walk away, before it gets wide enough so you can actually lay on it. After nightfall it is impossible to get back via the beach as things get pitch dark, so use the gravel road or bring a flash light.

The reef just outside is very pretty although there are only small fish on it. Forget going fishing as the entire area is severly overfished unfortunatelty. I gave up on it in the end.

The main draw back of the resort is its remoteness from everything. It is a good 25min tricycle ride from the main town with restaurants and bars. There is virtually nothing nearby, and as previously mentined not even a decent beach. If you like total isolation its good, otherwise go for one of the resorts closer to the town and the beach.

When reading these exageratedly positive reviews of the Blue Orchid Resort it is my perception that the reviews of this place have been manipulated probably by the owners themselves. This is unfortunate.

Visited Moalboal for the first time with my gf and we stayed there for 4 days. It was a 3 hour taxi ride from Mactan airport. Blue Orchid was located in a very quiet place and it was perfect for relaxation. We met most of the staff(Ed & co.), the manager(Ariel) and the owner(Michael). They were all very nice and friendly it feels like we've known them for a very long time.

The room we stayed was very clean and basic. AC, huge bed, and spacious toilet with good hot and cold shower. As for the food, very good! I highly recommend the red shrimp curry and chicken schnitzel.=)

As for the tours and other services, everything we want was taken care by Ed without any problems. We went to Oslob for whaleshark watching, then to Kawasan falls. We also rented a scooter for a whole day.

Overall, we loved the place and we plan to go back for some diving courses. =)

This was our first time to the Philippines. the managers judit and Marc assisted us for all the arrangements, Cebu arrival, transportation, excursions and retrieving our shoe after it walked off during the middle of the night. The location is remote, far north end of the Moalboal area but, this provided us with peace and quiet, relaxing atmosphere and no peddlers. the shoreline offered grate sunsets, walks along the beach and great snorkeling in the coral reefs. we were fortunate to be there at the same time with the owner Michael. we enjoyed the conversations and insights into the local culture. the food at the resort was very good but, we also enjoyed the many options in nearby Pangsama, not sure of the spelling. we did the waterfall and whale shark day trips, enjoyed both. recommend venturing out in the countryside, fascinating area.

Room Tip: enjoy the low tide and snorkeling.

Visited Cebu from 8th - 10th March & stayed in Blue Orchid for 2 nights.

It was a 3 hours ride from Mactan Airport & the roads were bumpy & took too long. But it was worth it; Blue Orchid was tucked in a quiet place of Cebu & was not crowded with foreigners. The nightlife was relatively quiet. The town nearby (15 mins away) have bars & restaurants. Beer costed less than US$1, which was awesome!

The room was facing the sea; peaceful & quiet. Amenities in the room was basic; decent bed, clean toilets. There was no TV & telephone, but there's WIFI though. Who needs those things when you're on a beach holiday anyway ?! As most reviews mentioned, the food is relatively good. Decently priced & had a wide variety for a small resort.

Mark & Judith were good host, very friendly & helpful. And we were really lucky, all the guests who stayed during that period was ultra friendly & i even joined the guest & Judith for a drink in town while my friend stayed in the resort.

One of the must-do would be whale shark snorkeling at Oslob. There were a few guests who were interested, so we went together. It cost P3,500 & it took a 2 hours ride, but gosh, it was really worth the experience! Also went to the Kawasan Falls on the way back & it wasn't as beautiful as i thought. For the close to 3 hours hike (quite steep), i wouldn't recommend this place.

The good thing about Blue Orchid is that you can put everything on tab & settle everything when you checked out.

Lovely resort; would definitely re-visit if i have the chance!
