“Beautiful natural attraction in Matanzas”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We visited this cave on the recommendation of our private guide. It was quite deep, going through different types of cave 'terrain' for lack of a better word. Stairs were quite steep in places, so the younger (7 year old) and older (79 year old) people in our group didn't love those aspects of it, but for those with no mobility issues, it is worth a visit.

You are charged for entry, and charged extra for each camera you choose to take in. No bags of any sort allowed. Wear secure footwear.

“Cool!!”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

It's a 1 hour drive from varadero. Our guide taught us alot on the politics, the culture, there way of life. We visited the town of Matanza where we saw the Museum of Pharmacy. Then we went to the caves which was pretty cool. Humidity was very high and alot of stairs. If you have heart trouble or ashma don't go.

“Cool”

Awesome....but wished our spanish was better, so we could understand the guide. The caves were absolutely beautiful and the going was relatively easy, the hardest thing was the stairs back up. I wondered if there was elevator for those less physically able.
