A beautiful beach, food was ok but not stunning. The island is worth a visit but if you can get there without going on the snorkel catamarn it would have been better (saw no fish while snorkling). Make sure you take plenty of sun cream because it gets hot but there is plenty of shade. No good for swimming because the sea is only up to your knees for a quite a way out.

Cayo Blanco is worth a day of your life, combined with fishing and snorkling. You can rent a motor boat in Varadero for 350 CUC. It comes with all-inclusive and crew. The trip will start at 09:00 in the morning. The first hours you will fish for Barracuda. Very exciting! The crew handels the hooks and the fishes. The only thing you actually do is to get the fish on board. On the way to Cayo Blanco you will get 1-2 hours of snorkling with colorful fishes. Another way to get to this island is to book a trip with a Catamaran with 50-80 others. The price is 77 CUC for each, and then you don't get the chance to fish.

Back to Cayo Blanco: It's like a postcard or a brochure of pretty places. I can tell you, it's not a trick. It actually looks that perfect!

On the island you get to swim, dance and eat. The beach is nice but the water is not more than 1 meter deep. If you swim outside the marked area the first aid guy will blow his wistle. The food was BBQ chicken/hamburger and a variation of bread/salad/rice. The chicken was good, but not the hamburger meat. You eat outdoors on tables with a lot of ants. The birds also tried to steal our food, but that was just charming.

Some of the leaders tried to gather people for some dancing with Cuban music from the speakers. Not many people did participate, but those who did had a lot of fun. The dancing lasted for 7-10 minutes.

I think we stayed on the Island for 3 hours before we went back with boat to Varadero, and then to the incloded Dolphin-show at 16:30 (this lasts 15 minutes and is a fantastic show).

Cayo Blanco is well worth a trip! Bring your camera!

Cayo Blanco is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It is an island to die for! The sand is perfect white and soft, the water turquise blue, the palm trees so perfectly natural yet unreal looking. Cayo Blanco is like the picture on a postcard, the scene trying to sell you a vacation, the island you wish you could be stranded on! It is perfection in every way. The time I spent on this slice of paradise was like living in a dream. It is seriously, flawlessly beautiful. There was just something about this island that was so unreal. The beach on the island was so much nicer than Varadero beach that my hotel was located on. I would have rather stayed there than go back to the resort. Even though Cuba was not my favorite location to visit for an all-inclusive vacation and I probably won't be back anytime soon.... this island was by far the most beautiful glimps of paradise that I have seen in all my travels of the Carribean.
