“Fantastic Holiday, Highly recommend the Hotel and Staff”
Reviewed July 10, 2010

We booked our family holiday at the Aegean View for June 2010.We were a little apprehensive after reading many bad reviews... let me reassure you... there is nothing bad at the Aegean View. In our family there was two adults, daughter of 17 and son aged 5. there was something for all of us, it was fantastic. The staff made my daughter feel more than welcome and involved her in all the activities and nights out. My son was in his element at the kids club and evening discos. The evening entertainment was a little dull but the entertainment staff tried there best to get everyone enjoying themselves, not only in the evening but all day long. The food is good and the restarant staff our great, especially the restarant manager,John, the chef, and the lady behind the counter.
The hotel is situated quite a way from the town but the hotel provide a mini-bus three times a day to take you to the beach or the town. A taxi will cost you 8euro.
We booked a suite with a private pool shared with just a few other rooms, it was lovely and the other families that shared with us were all lovely. When we were there it was mixed with only English and Dutch people.
Overall we would recommend this holiday to families . We will be going back next year.

Just spent 5 days here. Was a last minute decision, so not much choice. Thought we would go and did not have high expectations. First time on all inclusive.
Arrived at midnight by very friendly staff, and shown to a Jnr suite. Was in a lovley location, and went for a drink at the poolside bar. met by a very friendly bar man, who gave us drinks and snacks.
Next day saw the wonderful view from our room for the first time. Across the garden and pool to the sea nad beyond to Bodrum in Turkey.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were a treat, witj lots of choce of varied, well-cooked food. The reatuarant manager was very attentive and available at all meal times, he was concerned that everyone was enjoying their meal. No worries there - every meal was very tasty, well cooked, and well presented.
Day time at one of the poools was relaxing, and the pool was cool and inviting.
All in all a highly enjoyable time. Would go again and would recommend to others.

Thanks to all staff at the hotel.

Not normally one for leaving reviews but felt on this occassion it was an absolute must. We arrived very early in the morning with three young children to be greeted by a member of staff who can only be likened to Basil Fawltey. We were shown to a room with one double bed to sleep a family of 5. No cot, no pull out bed just a double bed. When I explained that there clearly was not enough beds he looked at me and said this is the room you have been allocated. Very distressed we follwed him back to reception to try and sort this out. He had no clue what he was doing but thank god George the bar manager came in and said you need to sort this out and phoned the manager to come down, who was in bed....
Finally we got to our room which was lovely but very high up in the hills about ten minutes walk to the restaurant and bar. The staff offered to come and pick us up whenever necessary in a golf buggy but this was not always easy aith a push chair.
Our apartment came complete with a pool to share with about five or six other families however it was not filled up we asked about this and they started to fill it up. Unfortunately in doing this the maintainance manager (owner of the hotel) left a man hole uncovered which my 53 year old father-in-law fell down 15 foot. Thankfully he was alive, but we needed an ambulance and this to be taken seriously after all he could have been much worse off. Someone came to collect him in the golf buggy and rang a taxi to take him to hospital which the hotel refused to pay for. This issue was not taken seriously by the hotel at all there was no accident form to complete and later that day the man hole was incovered again. This could have easily been one of our children and they would not have been so lucky.
No rep from Travel republic was available to come and see us, surprise, surprise.
We were also informed, as were many other families who we met that we could keep our rooms free of charge until you got collected. This turned out to be a mis print on all web sites as this was chargeable and we were left a stroppy note from reception telling us to see the manager about not being out of the room at 12. My husband told her this was not our problem and we would not be paying any extra. All of the other families opted to do the same thing.
Despite all of this we staill managed to have a lovely holiday. But be warned you need to make your own entertainment as it is terrible. The food took a long time to be replenished in the restaurant but what was served was average and we always found something we enjoyed.
This hotel is nice and the room was always spotless but it is out of the way and you need to take either a bus or taxi to town which is not always easy with a big family.

Have just taken my 2 girls (9 & 14) away for the first time on my own. Ignore the bad reviews, Immaculately clean, we were well looked after & felt safe. The hotel staff were wonderful, met on arrival with drinks and food, while they did the check in procedure and nothing too much trouble. Bags taken to the room which was lovely & spacious & near to pool area and restaurant, Restaurant was immaculately clean and food was fresh every day with lots on offer, always 6 or 7 hot main dishes at lunch & dinner, Breakfast was full english or hot croissants & usual continental fare. Quiet when we stayed in school holidays, Entertainment team Tony and Sonja were lovely, very friendly and not pushy but got the children involved in lots of fun in the daytime. Evening entertainment was organised by the entertainment manager, Willy, & was not the best. Quite inappropriate sometimes, even my 10 year old raised her eyebrows at times! Went into Kos Town one evening about 15 mins in a taxi & cost €8 but hotel runs a free shuttle 3 times daily and local buses are about every hour. Having done all inclusive for last 4 years at different resorts we would definitely go back to the Aegean View, Food was better than we expected and although only wine & beer was served in the daytime before 6pm, this didn't seem to bother anyone. Everyone we spoke to said they'd return, it was lovely!

Hi we did a late booking to the Aegean view with 3 children aged 5,5 and 7 and stayed in a suite with the private pool.

The journey was very long and we all arrived very tired in the early hours, we were greeted with a lovely room, plate of food and water waiting for us, a lovely pool and great views of Turkey.

The children loved the pool, the kids club and the whole holiday and really didnt want to leave.

The food was a little repetetive but no more than any other hotel we have stayed in and we ate well every day. It was also very tasty and well cooked.

The suite was great, we had an upstairs bedroom for the kids with a t.v and a little living area downstairs along with a big bedroom for us!! The pool was amazing as we were in a maisonette we had our own little private pool for all the people in the suites and we were in it every day, but the main pool was also great with a little slide and a mushroom for the kids to stand under!! The evening entertainment was not the best but half way through the week they replaced the reps and it improved greatly and we still enjoyed drinking and laughing with the great friends we made at the hotel.

We really enjoyed the stay and would recommend the hotel to familes. We think the hotel is lovely and friendly and we would definitley go again!

Enjoy a lovely family run, sweet hotel and great weather :-).

I urge you to ignore the bad reviews. They amount to nothing more than complaints about there being nothing for kids. That's a major plus in my humble opinion - it makes for an extremely relaxing stay. It's also shorthand for "there was nowhere for us to offload the sprogs so we could get smashed" - If you want that, go to Pontins and leave the Aegean View to the grown-ups. Truly fabulous hotel and the staff were as good as any high end hotel I've ever stayed in. Boat trip (10 Euros) was great - swimming in the lagoon whilst the BBQ was being prepared on the boat was magnificent. Pools wonderful - usual Brit nonsense about the water being freezing is, of course, nonsense. If you don't like it, stay out of the pools (gene as well as swimming...) :) Never been to a place where the staff are so *genuinely* attentive. Highly recommended and will certainly be returning.

We arrived late at night and had to knock up the lady in reception, she took us to our room and there are many steps with no lights on at night and nowhere open, we had been left a small water and a snack in our room. The rooms for 2 are doubles so if you need twins make that clear, we had to move. Rooms are modern in a bungalow style with nice bathrooms, water is solar so dont be taking a shower when everyone else is, also, although modern you still have to put toilet paper in a bin - yuk.
The hotel does have a lovely view across to Turkey but it is very isolated, no other bars or hotels in this vicinity, they had only been open a few weeks this year when we got there and the resort was nearly empty, 1 uk couple and a few dutch. The catering staff were lovely and helpful with us as they dont usually have UK guests and did us some good food, no complaints in the restuarant - the only other food source is the snack bar - toast and hot dogs till 5pm - nothing else.
The bar manager - Georges was lovely, he works from 5pm on, before this time only beer and wine and soft drinks are served - NO spirits anywhere till after 5pm - AI??????
There should be a free shuttle down to the front at 11am 13pm 15pm and straight back, the staff took us once but made it clear that we should use the local bus, this is only 1euro each way but to come back up its at 13.30 and not another till 19.00 last one at 10pm. Its not far but a set 8euros each way in a taxi.
If you are going to just relax and use the pools this is fine, (and only want a beer or wine) but if you want to go anywhere else its too far out.
The beaches when you get down are pebbly not sandy.
Kos town is very nice, quite pricey but the same as most places with the euro, lovely harbour with regular trips to turkey and round the coast. There are buses to the other resorts from town but they leave around 9am-10am and then not till 1pm and even in May were very full.
Taxi from the airport is 35Euros each way
