Me and my wife stayed at the oceanis last week what can I say all the staff were fantastic but the head waiter needs a special mention that man is a star he spoke to everyone in the restaurant and made sure we were all got a drink the food was at a very high standard whether it was breakfast , lunch or dinner the young lady who worked in the Greco bar was very attentive and her crepes were to die for . I cannot say anything bad about the hotel or its staff they certainly made my holiday and I will be back first class

We stayed for ten days at the end of August/beginning of September.
The clientele were a mix of Brits, Russian's Germans and a few French & Italians. The staff were fantastically attentive and couldn't do enough for the guests. Too many to name them all but they all worked very hard to ensure guests were having the best holidays ever. Antonis the Maitre'D, Christina the dancing waitress, the Pool Bar staff and the reception staff were all brilliant. They were always friendly, cheerful and happy to help - they are all a credit to the hotel.
The hotel is set in its own grounds along a stone/shingle beach. There are 2 pools; the main pool where we spent most of our time and a slightly quieter pool at the back which had a toastie/crepe station. The joy of not having children running round meant plenty of space for adults to play in the pools, floating on inflatables or playing bat & ball. The beach requires surf shoes as otherwise is quite painful on the feet. There were plenty of sun beds both around the pool and on the beach so no need for the sunbed run at the crack of dawn.
Entertainment was low key but enjoyable. Dan the musician and Andy the entertainment guy were friendly and fun. Natalie the Thomson rep was also great – she gave us loads of useful information and recommendations about places to go. The Thomson transfers were also seamless.
The food was of a high standard with plenty of choice in the main restaurants at breakfast, lunch & dinner. The Beach bar also offered a light lunch of kebab/salad. We did try the a la carte restaurant once during our stay. The staff were excellent and the mixed starter was delicious. We had pizzas for the main course and didn’t think they were particularly special but heard good things about some of the other main course choices. My partner’s only slight complaint was the amount of coriander in the food as they are allergic however it wasn’t enough of an issue for us to mention and if we had I’m sure they would have resolved it.
We arrived in the late evening and they kept the restaurant open for us which was a nice touch. The inclusive drinks were ok and included some cocktails. There is a general store on site selling papers, inflatables, post cards, groceries, drinks and snacks.
WI-FI and the in-room safe were both chargeable which seemed a little off for this standard of hotel. The WI-FI is bought by time either 1 hour or 24 hour periods for five or fifteen euros. You log in and out as used so the 24 hour period would probably do most people for a holiday. One nice feature was book exchange where guests would leave old books either in the Thomson bookcase or on tables in the corridors and other guests can swap. Better then carrying lots of books!
We had a sea view room and I asked for one in block 3 which was quieter. We were on the 5th floor and had a brilliant terrace and view over the beach bar and to Turkey. The room was nice with a big comfy bed, plenty of hanging space but not many drawers. The bathroom had double sinks and a large shower with a glass door on the toilet but not the main bathroom. Towels were adequate but were looking a little tired.
Re smoking - this is a smoking hotel and a lot of people do in the bars and also the a la carte restaurant. I’m a non-smoker and detest the habit but wasn’t bothered too much by it as I ensured I sat towards the outside of the bar area.
The airport is hugely inadequate for the passenger numbers. Arriving was fine but departing was a nightmare – endless queuing in a very basic airport. Credit to the Thomson reps who were very organised and informative and made it more bearable. The area post security is too small to hold more than a couple of flights worth of passengers so there is a requirement to queue to even get through security whilst previous flights board. There is very little at the airport in the way of retail and catering although most passengers seem to be rushing to catch their flight with no time to spare.
Overall we had a fabulous holiday and would definitely return, the only slight downsides were housekeeping started a little early in the morning and were quite noisy which wasn’t great for long lies and Kos Airport.

Room Tip: Block 3 is quieter. we were in room 3543 which was a good size and had a massive terrace. Rooms in b...

We stayed for a week in August at Oceanis in an executive suite. The room was very spacious on 2 levels, lower level sitting room with L shaped sofa, TV and minibar area and sink then steps leading up to main bedroom area. The bathroom led off the bedroom with good sized bath and shower. The only grumble I would have with the room is that the sheets appeared to be changed very infrequently. The suites look directly out onto the sea which is great apart from 12.30 to 2.30 when the lunch crowd pass but there is an electric curtain to provide some privacy if you are in the pool or laying on the sun loungers.

As mentioned many times before the staff are great especially Antonis, I have no idea how he manages to get round everyone daily. The entertainment is pretty low key with only a fire show and Greek night that was worth going to but we weren't looking for big time entertainment so wasn't a problem for us.

The executive lounge above the reception area is a good idea with help yourself wine on tap and tea, coffee and small snacks available but this could be looked after better as was sometimes a bit messy.

We found the food to be plentiful and of a good variety so no complaints there.

If returning I would probably choose a private pool room as I don't think that the executive suite is worth double the price of a pool room.

Room Tip: We stayed in 4103 which is in the middle of the 9 executive suites so not much noise from main pool...

Stayed here 28/8/13 to 4/9/13. The merits of this hotel have been mentioned many times, i.e. the staff being exceptionally helpful and friendly. However there is room for improvement. The room towels are well worn and grey and in need of being replaced with new ones. Although the bed is very comfortable the pillows certainly are NOT. The only drawers are the small ones in the bedside tables, and the room safe, which is 15 Euros for a week, is in a dark wardrobe (we fortunately had a small torch with us), and is very small. It wouldn't store an ipad or similar sized tablet.

In the early hours of some mornings we were disturbed by other guests moving their chairs around endlessly on the tiled balconies. I realise this is not a fault of the hotel, but the application of rubber feet on these chairs would rectify this annoyance.

We were lucky having a good view from our "garden view" room, but we noticed that some balconies had very poor views and were not at all private.

Overall we did enjoy our stay and would recomment this well run hotel to others.
Many people have reported chaos at the airport, we had no problem at all.

It may be helpful to know that the 15Euros charge for Wi -fi is not per 24hrs but is for 24 hours usage throughout your stay.

this is my second attempt to write a review, the original seems to have been deleted????? NOT BY ME!!
My review was a warning to NON-SMOKERS, like myself.
The Hotel and it's staff are brilliant, as are the rooms and the setting. But the two main entertainment areas are cramped and full of smokers. The table tennis facility is placed in a smoking area. You are allowed to smoke at the table in the A La Carte.

I wish that someone had written about the smoking, but alas no one had, so I had the misfortune of staying at SMOKERS PARADISE.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your feedback on your recent stay here at Oceanis Beach & Spa Resort.

I am disappointed to read that we did not fulfil your expectations during your stay.

I felt strongly the need to respond to your comments because of the negative image that could be taken from it by a guest that has not yet visited our hotel.

Here at the Oceanis we have smoking and non-smoking areas. All our internal areas are non-smoking; however smoking is permitted in the outside areas.

All our main restaurants are none smoking and in our Hippocampus A La Carte Restaurant guests are seating with consideration to smokers and non-smokers. It is not our intentions to seat a smoking guest next to a non-smoker. If this is ever that case then action would be taken to rectify this.

The pool bar however is a different matter as guest seat themselves. There is space for over 150 guests in our pool bar entertainment area and the space provides enough room for guests to freely move around this means that no guests has to sit next to anyone who’s conduct they deem unacceptable, smoking or otherwise.

All our bar areas have been expertly designed to ensure the free movement of fresh air, meaning that any smoke would be quickly removed from the area.

As the hotel manager I am here to ensure that the 800 guest that the hotel accommodates on a weekly basis have the holiday they deserve. Many of our guests choose to smoke and their wishes must be considered as much as the non-smokers, this is why the provisions have been put in place to control the areas in which smoking is allowed.

I hope that you will give us the chance in the future to welcome you again into our Hotel to change any negative impression and have an enjoyable stay.

Patty Aivalioti
General Manager.

We have just returned from a fantastic 10 night stay at this resort/hotel. Firstly want to thank Patty, Manos, Antonis, Fotini, Flora, Anna and Themis, Christina, to name just a few (I can't remember everyone else's names sorry) for making our stay so special and memorable. I can't say enough about them, they really looked after everyone.

Our room: block 2 private pool room 2103, I loved it (if only my view back home this morning was the same!) great sized room, terrace and pool, always cleaned well and was decorated with towels everyday and even for my birthday including banners and balloons. Lovely touch and they work hard cleaning them all. The only thing I would say is the hedges at the back could be a little higher to make it more private. We spent a couple of days trying to figure out how to turn the lights on in the pool, Patty saw right to it, turns out we hugged the bar and had to be in the room to see them......doh! Once we did see them before they turned off it was lovely. If you can afford to have a pool room....... Do it!

Food: what more can I say than it is excellent! Huge range, spoilt for choice from each restaurant to beach bar and crepe/ toastie bar. We went to the a la carte restaurant for my birthday, they managed to squeeze us in, unfortunately there had been a problem in the kitchen but the staff bent over backwards to sort it out, turned out to be one of the funniest nights we had. The staff were excellent. I recommend the lamb if you go as we found out when we hired the private gazebo for the evening.

Private gazebo meal: highlight of our holiday. Patty sat down with us and designed the meal around us. The gazebo and table near the beach bar was decorated to perfection. The lady waiting for us was amazing and really looked after us(she greets at the restaurant every night). Starter and main just to die for and desert was a lovely heart shaped cake (gorgeous), on taking the remainder back to the room it had been decorated with flowers on the bed. Lovely touch. Dan the entertainer also played our favourite song for us from the beach bar. If I was doing it again I would pick a night when nothing was on at the beach bar as quite a few people walked up close and sitting in the seats close to the gazebo, so it would be nice if they could be moved. patty and guy from a la carte also came to see us and make sure we enjoyed it. So did we enjoy it? Of course, this is a must do!

Entertainment: Andy and Dan, lovely people and a great laugh! Entertainment is low key, which is what is wanted on this type of holiday, Dan is a great musician. Fire night, blanket on the beach, quiz night and disco to name a few, just what we wanted.

Bars and staff: just brilliant, also got involved dancing and table service (which included in the restaurants) they all work very hard.

Beach: didn't really go there as we had our private pool but looked lovely.

Thomson rep: Natalie, great lady always available and made good recommendations in Kos town, we even got free drinks in shenanigans! We them came across jacksons bar which we loved also. Natalie also looked after us at the airport on returning last night.

Hotel overall: stunning, I particularly loved the no kids allowed!

To cap it off, lets just say we are sat here pricing for next year right now!

Many thanks to all staff, this is a great hotel and we didnt want to come home. Love kellie and Zoe (see you next year)
