Just got back from a week at the Ramira Beach Hotel. Booked last minute the week before we went. I read the reviews and was really looking forward to it and I wasn't disappointed. The only hiccup was on checking in and our room wasn't ready for 2 hours, which meant we had to wait until 1.00 am, but we just sat in the bar and had a few cocktails.
Room - this was excellent, really modern, with a separate room with 2 more beds and a balcony. The balcony overlooked the main pool. Bathroom was really nice, the only downside being you had to hold the shower to take a shower as there was no hook for it. The room had a fridge which was stocked with drinks every 2 days (part of the all inclusive, and which was really welcome).
Food - the food was excellent at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff work really hard, everything is well stocked and replenished. There is just so much to choose from, even the pickiest of eaters would be able to find something. If you didn't want to eat lunch in the main dining room, there was a beach bar which served gyros, salads etc and drinks which were all really good. I definitely need to diet now!!
Pool - nice sized pool with salt water (which my son wasn't keen on). But it was fine for us. Drinks and snacks available from the pool bar. The sunbed wars were quite entertaining, you had to get up quite early to bag a sunbed. There are a lot of grassy areas around the pool and it would have been good to have more sunbeds available to use on the grass. I did see the pool staff remove some towels from beds which had been reserved early!! There is also a children's pool but we didn't use this.
Beach - this is very stony but there are beach shoes available to buy at the hotel shop if you don't have any. The sunbeds are nice with shades over them. The beach area did look a little bit rough.
Entertainment - there was plenty of activities for all if you wanted to get involved. We didn't really use any of the activities so can't really comment but it seemed well organised. The evening entertainment didn't seem that good, in particular the karaoke but that was probably the people who think they can sing but can't :)
There is a bus stop right outside the hotel where you can get the bus into Kos Town, cost is 1.50 euros and takes about 10 mins. They run every 15 minutes.
Overall this was an excellent holiday and I would definitely go back. The staff are very friendly and work very hard and long hours.
