This is the second time we visited this resort within the year and Everything was absolutely perfect. We had no problems checking in as it was quick and easy, bags were on a cart ready to go by the time we were done checking in. The revovations everyone was talking about were pretty close to done but were never a distraction or hinderance. The food is always top notch, if was never an issue of quality rather then personal taste if a meal wasn't desirable and really that wasn't a problem because we would just order something else, they are very understanding of that. We tried a huge variety of foods to expand our culinary experience and we didnt expect to love it all, just have to be open minded is all. As for a favorite eating spot its all so good and very personal to each persons taste so just try them all. Tipping isnt required but it goes a long way, these people go out of thier way to make your stay as perfect as possible and they deserve to be recognized for thier service, you would think nothing to tip back home (and for probably lessor quality of service) so why not here. The cart rides are a blast if you get to know the drivers and whoop it up with them, and if they are busy or a little behind, who cares no schedule to keep so we would enjoy the stroll throughout the resort. The resort is kept impecable and the scenery is stunning so we took it all in with long slow walks. The entertainment at night is awesome and "Gahndi" (one of the entertainers) really stood out, that guy can dance and laugh at himself so he was very entertaining. The boose flows very liberilly at night but no one became a nuisance and it was all good fun to round out the day. Enjoyed the Martini lounge one night and it is a nice was to just step it down a bit and just sit back and relax with a few incredible martinis and again it was top notch in there. I must say a special thanks to our Concierge J Jesus. If you need anything or have concerns search this guy out, he is incredible, his sense of humor is awesome. He went way beyound the call of duty for us, we were wanting a soccer jersey of the Mexican National team for a family member back home and he managed to get us one on his own time when he got home and brought it to us personally. He really didn't have to do that but we were especially grateful for his time and graditude. Note to El Dorado management, don't loose this guy, he is worth his weight in gold to you. We highly recomend this resort to anyone, we love it and will return without a doubt. Want to really praise the resort but hate the thought of them getting too busy and popular that it will become difficult for us to get a booking here. LOL

Room Tip: first trip here we were pretty much in the middle of the resort, this time we were at the end of the resort Bldng 5300 and both were just fine, booth clean and comfortable and nice views. We really don't spend much time in the room so we are pretty much indifferent as to what we got but overall it is all good.

My wife and I stayed at the Casitas 3100 complex for our honeymoon.. What a great time!! At first site the grounds are amazing and perfectly maintained.. There is always someone cleaning or manicuring the resort!! The food was good, however portion sizes at most restaurants are small, so make sure to order every course or double up on appetizers.. Our honeymoon package included an oceanfront massage, candlelight beach dinner, & breakfast in bed.. All were amazing, just MAKE SURE to bring proof of marriage!! We weren't told by our travel agent and had to have proof emailed to us.. The pool was awesome!! We met so many nice people from all over!! It was so nice that it's an adults only resort.. The atmosphere is soooo relaxing!! The staff went above and beyond for us.. Juan (poolside bartender), Eduardo (lunch waiter by the pool), Leo (reception porter), & Esther (maid) were EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL and attentive!! Our stay was amazing and we will be return travelers!! Thank you for a hassle free, wonderful honeymoon!!

Beautiful (and quite large) all-inclusive. If you're looking for an all-inclusive that pretty much gives you everything you might envision an all-inclusive to be, then this is a great choice. The only thing someone might want different is a place more intimate and smaller, but for a large property, this is a great value.

My husband and I stayed here for an anniversary trip. We couldn't have been happier! The resort is large, but easy to navigate. The beaches were pristine. The grounds and pools were top notch! Service at all restaurants and bars was fantastic. The food is truly delicious! Best food we have had at an all inclusive. The drinks were not watered down. Lots of activities to do. Movies at night, followed by a show. Kayaks, snorkeling, ping pong, archery, bikes, and so much more. The candlelight dinner on the beach is amazing. Not something we'd typically do, but we were wowed by the service, food and ambiance.

Note- if it is your anniversary you can get an anniversary package at no cost. Ours included 2 for 1 massages, candlelight dinner on beach and breakfast in bed. However, you have to prove it is your anniversary with either a wedding invitation or wedding license.

Truly an amazing experience! EDR is paradise!

Room Tip: The Casitas rooms are a bit larger and have an outdoor shower. You also get a private beach area, with access to the entire resort. Casitas is a further walk from the main part of the resort, but there is shuttle service.

Entering the lobby..floors gleaming, glass doors spotless, smiling
faces and everyone 'doing', assisting....
New landscaping, additional swim up suites, walkways immaculate
and the lighting in the evening...very classy, elegante.
Food better than ever..a huge compliment to the owners, managers & staff.
Great selection of breakfast items...really satisfying.

Room Tip: New swim up rooms, fresh, close to beach & main pool, restaurants. I was on 2nd floor room 519.
