“Great vacation...excellent service”

From beginning to end, the whole week was full of activities and fun. Resort is 4.5star and kept extremely clean. The Lindo's entertaining team; William, Rodrigo, Fransisco, Gilmer, and all others made it an amazing memorable family vacation for us. Guests are included to participate in almost all shows which we really enjoyed. 8 to 10 pools shared with Maya resort. The buffet and dinner restaurant choices are sufficient to keep you trying variety of foods. The Japanese & Brazilian restaurants were our favourites. Make your dinner reservations soon after you arrive as they book fast. The scheduled activities throughout the day for kids and adults are kept on schedule and well organized. Highly recommend for family fun vacation.. would definitely go back!

We just returned from 9 days at Iberostar Lindo. This is our second visit in the last two years.

Positives:
Service - From check-in, to our building's concierge, to the waitstaff at the restaurants...everybody was friendly and obviously trying hard to make our vacation a great experience. Special kudos to Selvin!

Rooms - This is a beach resort, so I don't expect the same type of luxury that I do if I'm staying at a five star hotel in downtown Chicago. We had two rooms on the first floor of building 51. The air conditioning worked well. Humidity was a bit of an issue in the bathrooms; keep medicine/pills in an airtight container. Beds were comfortable. The TVs had been upgraded to 32" flat screens since the last time we visited.

Buffet - Massive improvement over last year. We find it amusing that many reviews indicate that the food at the buffet is 'way too American'....yet we spend a good part of every meal at the buffet wondering 'what is that'? The made to order egg stations in the morning were great and the chefs kept the line moving fast. The made to order pasta station at lunch and dinner meant that there was always an excellent option if we couldn't find anything else we loved. The variety of meats & fish was impressive. (Leg of lamb, roast beef, suckling pig, more variety of fish than I can name) Any buffet can get old when you eat there every day, but they are doing a great job trying to add variety.

Beach - The resort has a nice strip of sand when compared to neighboring hotels. The sand is great. There are a few rocky patches in the water, but easily avoided. While crowded, we could always find a chair when we wanted one. The food at the beach, while not gourmet, is pretty good. Some of our kids chose to leave the pool to go eat there rather than the main buffet for many lunches.

Some Negatives:
Restaurants - This was one of our biggest disappointments. Lindo guests no longer have access to the restaurants at the Maya. The two new restaurants Lindo has opened up in lieu of the Maya options (Steak House & Mediterranean/Seafood) are nowhere near as good as the ones at the Maya. We were a group of 6, so most nights we had a sampling of just about every entree offered on the menu....and there wasn't much that impressed us. All of our steaks (other than the filet) at the Steakhouse were incredibly fatty. All of the dishes at the Cajun restaurant were bland. The Japanese restaurant (at the Beach hotel) was our best experience, and that was average at best. We loved the restaurants at Maya last year, so this was a big disappointment. After eating at the restaurants the first 4 nights of our stay, we decided to not visit any of them a second time and to eat at the buffet instead.

Security - There were a number of large groups staying at the resort while we were there. (Weddings, family reunions, etc.) Some of these groups were allowed to take over parts of the resort. It created more of a spring break atmosphere than a family vacation atmosphere. (Drunk guys doing backflips off the pool bar, cracking head open and bleeding into the pool. Same couple of guys getting in fights with other guests over the course of multiple days.) Security seemed to be more interested in keeping these guests happy, rather than making the rest of the guests happy by putting a stop to this behavior.

Other than the food, the big thing that prevents me from considering this as a 'five star all-inclusive' experience is standards. I expect five star resorts to have a maniacal focus on the details. This doesn't seem to be the case at the Lindo. Hotel employees consistently walk past trash on the ground. Waitresses dump leftover drinks in the sand so they can carry more empty glasses. (This attracts birds, coatis, and bugs.) Parts of our room hadn't been dusted in forever. (Shelves in top of closet....the hard to see or reach places.) While none of these things impacted the quality of our trip, it prevents the resort from being top notch in my opinion.

We enjoyed our trip, but think we have decided that we will try another resort next year. Perhaps another Iberostar property.

Room Tip: The resort is huge. We prefer rooms in building 51 or 52. It's a longer walk to the main buffe...

Wedding group of 65 stayed at the Lindo.

Excellent service, concierge in each of the room block buildings, anything you needed they had someone there to service you right away. Every employee at the resort is so friendly and inviting and they do everything possible to make your vacation be a great one.

Iberostar is laid out accordingly. Grand #1, Maya #2, Lindo #3, Beach #4, & Del Mar #5. You pay for what you get. 1. Grand (Best of the best food, lobster tails at lunch buffet etc., adults only so very quiet place, not much excitement but awesome rooms and food can't be beat). 2. Maya shares the same resort with the Lindo. Better options for Maya is much nicer rooms with soft beds, hammocks on the porch, food selection is much better at the al la carte restaurants) 3. Shares pool and general areas with the Maya, awesome pool, beach is one of the best for the Riviera Maya region, the lobby, bars, & restaurants are all in air conditioning. 4. Beach & Del Mar (from what I can tell eating at one of their a la carte restaurants is that the menu selection is limited, the hotel lobby, bar, and some of the restaurants have no ac and is just under thatched roofs with ceiling fans) The rule with Iberostar is you can book at your hotels al carte's restaurants or below. So next time I would stay at the Maya to have access to those places (we did one meal for wedding rehearsal dinner at the Maya and it was much nicer than Lindo so I would say it is worth the extra money for the week.)


Only two things to complain to Lindo that could be changed to make people's stay a little nicer. Like people said the beds are stiff & it is now 2013 so I believe there should be wifi provided through out the resort and not just at the hotel lobby. You could charge people $50-$75 for the week to have access to the wifi just make it available to those who want it.

Our stay was excellent at Lindo and I was very happy staying at the resort. Like everyone says the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The food was good the whole week at the buffets and restaurants. I always suggest going to the main buffet for breakfast and lunch because they have twice the selection than the pool side buffet. The snack restaurants on the beach and burgers and tacos in the shopping center were great. The two ice cream shops on the resort always provided an afternoon treat.

Would I suggest anybody staying at the Lindo or the Maya....definitely yes. We will go back for sure just probably stay at the Maya to have a few more upgrades. Resort was very safe and always a fun time with activities or relaxation.

Two years ago we stayed at the Iberostar Grande (adult only) at this same location and loved it. This time with our family in tow, we choose the Lindo. I must say we were disappointed that not all Iberostar resort adhere to the same standards. As both a vacationer and in the field of Customer Experience, this resort failed to meet their standards and our expectations.

When there are so many resorts to choose from, with so many offering the "usual" service, it isn't too hard to differentiate oneself and create a "wow" experience for you customers.

Beds were very hard offering a restless night's sleep. The safe broke twice, the TV remote broke 2 and took two days to get a replacement, the keys to the rooms failed, the battery in the lock for the room failed, the hair dryer is poorly designed and burns your hand if you hold it too long. Service ranged from ok to slow. Only a few staff would smile - some ignored. The buffet was average however, the French and Japanese restaurants were very good.

There are two family reports on this property and the Lindo resort apparently had the better pools so many from the other resort came over - which they were permitted to do - making for a very crowded pool! The entertainment team did do a great job of getting people involved at the pool.

The Iberostar chain is one we'd definitely like to work with as they could really create something special and set themselves as the standard to which all other would be compared. Until then, we would spend our vacation dollars at another resort.

Concerning mattresses, we keep a standard in all our beds when it comes to their firmness, nevertheless we also have toppers to soften the bed for those guests who find them too firm. We also have the option of leaving extra pillows and extra blankets in the rooms upon our guests’ request.

We are sorry you were dissatisfied with your accommodations. Our maintenance department works on a maintenance roll throughout the year. However the issues you encountered are clearly not want we want our guests to experience; this information will be sent to our Maintenance Manager to take actions.

We are truly saddened the read that you do not intend to return to our resort but nevertheless hope that we will once again have the honor of serving you at our resort so we may prove to you our commitment to exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

We spent 10 days at the Lindo in July, having visited the resort 2 years ago. There is always a danger in going back but in the case of the Lindo, it was just as good as we had remembered. The hotel itself although large, is spread out into smaller buildings with interesting and different courtyards. The rooms are of both a good size and standard, with room service on tap 24 hours a day. The communal areas are varied, and there are enough for it to never to feel crowded. The restaurants are all of a reasonable standard, personally i liked the Japanese restaurant the most. However the best place to eat is the taco bar in the shopping and nightclub area, its awesome. The staff are fantastic, and I particularly liked the fact that hotel felt so friendly. Many of the guest are from the US, so its no surprise.

My daughter and I stayed at three different hotels in the area on our recent trip, two of which were Iberostar properties. This was my first stay at the Lindo.

We arrived at the hotel very early and prepared to leave our bags with the bellman. During check in we were offered a free upgrade to a junior suite and advised that our room was ready. I wish I could remember the name of the employee that checked us in, she was very informative and friendly.

Our room was located in the 5100's and was perfect. Very large and it overlooked the pool. We were very close to one if the restaurants, which made our location even better. Food was good, service was fantastic. Enjoyed sharing lunch with Napolean, a very talented star friend one afternoon.

I have stayed in the complex many times and just want to mention the galaxy nightclub. I notice that a video for coco bongo plays on repeat pretty much all night on the large screens. I am sure there is a kickback of some sort from coco bongo, but it gets really old and why would you want to take away from your own club? Return to the music videos you used to play, please. Also, I wish I knew the name of the bartender in the club, there are two and for lack of a better description, the shorter one is great. He has worked there a few years and is very nice and a very hard worker. When I return in November I will be sure to get his name. He deserves some recognition.

My daughter had just graduated from high school and this was her senior trip. We stayed at another hotel before we arrived at the iberostar complex. On more than one occasion she has mentioned how much she enjoyed the Iberostar resorts, the beach and mostly the employees and is looking forward to returning on her own. We always felt safe here and the security measures are a comfort.

A special thanks to Antonio the bellman for taking such good care of us and for letting us ride along on the trolley our last night. This is a great way to see all the resorts, except the Grand, so check in with Antonio when you arrive and don't forget to tip!!!!!

Room Tip: The rooms in the 5100 block are very quiet!

Not only is this location beautiful, the service and accommodations were outstanding. Our concierge Alberto took care of all of the booking and coordinated dinners for all three of our families, while making special arrangements for little ones in the group, with milk delivered to the room, crib, etc. For a special anniversary celebration the room was decorated beautifully with rose petals, champagne, etc. Alberto felt like a friend, and always greeted us with a smile. When we had the need for medical care Dr. Ricardo the on-site 24/7 doctor came to the room late in the night and the front desk assisted with medication to be delivered quickly. Everyone working at Iberostar Paraiso Lindo were friendly, hard-working and professional. The food, drinks, entertainment and facilities were exceptional. Though this is an all-inclusive resort we felt tips were greatly deserved and appreciated. We would highly recommend this resort.
