“Huge a.i. resort”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This was our 11th trip to Mexico but our first at an Iberostar property. The resort is huge, and includes 5 separate hotels. Each one has its own restaurants, lobby, pools, etc. There are sharing priveledges between some of the hotels, but not at all unless you stay at the Grand, which is adult only. The resort is gorgeous, as is the beach . Food at the buffets was good, but not great. There is a lot of walking depending where you stay., but there are quite a few shuttles. Junior suite was very nice, and cleaning staff were wonderful. The fitness centre was outstanding. I would have no trouble recomending this resort to anyone.

Room Tip: the closer you are to the beach, the further yo are from the lobby and main buffet

Very large property, well maintained, lots of friendly staff, terrific pool ,excellent beach,Bars everywhere and always open and generous, new pillow top mattresses, buffet was good ,a la carte restaurants quite good.Entertainment nightly good for a laugh but nothing special, except for Saturday night which was pretty good. Animals everywhere but they cause no issues and are interesting to watch.1/2 hour to the airport and Playa del Carmen. Great people watching. If your North American you feel a little isolated because almost all the news and T.v. shows are in Spanish except for SOMOS/WARNER, which carries only U.S comedy shows ,but in reality it's probably good to get away from the info, overkill. All in all a good value for your money,I hear there are higher grade resorts on the property only saw their lobbies, there are 5 hotels on the site decide what level of POSH you want but Iberostar runs a very good ship at this level.

Was all very cozy hotel with fantastic gardens of the many plants and animals. The area is available just about anywhere to eat or drink in the bar. Diving on site or can be transferred to the Iberostar in Cozumel. There are many types of restaurants (especially spectacular in Japan). Many programs, or hard to relax.

This resort was literally a life saver. I am a female, married with 3 young adult children. I have suffered from depression and agoraphobia on and off for years. I was at the end of my rope. My 4 sisters and mom asked me to go and helped me pay part. My intentions were to go to the beach on my last night and take all my pills. I had letters wrote and was well prepared. Just the beauty all around, friendly people, relaxing amidst such wonderful surroundings turned me around. I can honestly say it was the best week of my life. Someday I hope to be able to go back. I can't see anyone not having a marvelous time. Please pass my thanks on the the resort's manager and staff.

Room Tip: There are 3 floor complexes so if you have a hard time you might want 1st floor.

Just came back from Iberostar and still have the fresh Mexican tan.

Stayed at Iberostar Paraiso Beach. Close proximity to the airport and Playa del Carmen.
I chose this resort for my family since it had huge grounds, 5 resorts on same property to explore, endless things to see, taste and experience.

Stayed from Jan 3-Jan 15. That was amazing. But again buckle up and get ready cause it will be long and detailed.

What I love about Mexico and Iberostar is PEOPLE. All service staff was beyond amazing, they exceeded every expectation in delivering the service, actually you could feel that they loved what they do.

Karina Mar from reception was fantastic, and I'm not the 1st to just fall in love with her amazing personality, her professionalism. Daniel from reception was amazingly helpful as well.
Check in and check out went out smooth. Bell boy Mario is the best, very professional helpful and understanding. You would need ell service a lot since walking from lobby to lobby of different resorts might be a bit too far although I enjoyed walking. Bell boys arrange your pick up and drop off an any lobby and shopping plaza, running those carts was so much fun and delivery to any destination in the Iberostar resort in less then 2 minutes.

Room cleanness was great, sleep quality-i was waken by a rooster every morning, for some people it's not an issue though. Tipping cleaning ladies wouldn't hurt since they go beyond in making your room flawless and making origami from towels every day.

Walking on Iberostar was a great pleasure, peacocks, flamingos, parrots, was a great way to relax, and enjoy nature.

Food at a la carte restaurants and in buffet was great. Although I might suggest at buffets to add more sea food products and variety to every day buffet menu, because after a while it gets predictable. The staff at bar, buffets and restaurants was great.
Captain Abraham great manager, knowledgeable and professional. Miguel, Mario, Lucio, Marco, Samuel, Oscar were great guys who would not miss an opportunity to make you smile, have a nice chat and being delivered an awesome service. Perla, Liliana are the ladies that bring the cheer to your face, they work at shopping plaza.

I might sound a bit subjective but trust me I'm trying to be as objective as possible. Human factor plays a great role in building up the experience.

Entertainment was unique funny although I expected a little less of "sex motive", I have it enough here on TV, billboards and stores. Entertainment staff was great: Christian, Isabella and Lester and the masterpiece of humor and always a great warm and interesting conversations to strike with. I love these people's sincerity in the eyes, I really enjoyed sincerity and authenticity and genuine smiles and talks.

The beach and the pool always has something going on, either salsa classes, different competitions like volleyball, shooting. Paella (rice and sea food) cooked on a gigantic stove on the beach was mmmm good! Beach was neat, clean, as part of the Paraiso Beach part be stayed more towards the Lindo side of the beach. Take walks on the beach this is the best way to see iguanas and get the best tan, we walked 1.5 hours just one way passed next to a couple resorts, but Iberostar still looked better. My only issue with he beach was swimming, we love swimming but the waves were just too huge, almost every day people would get rescued from the sea. The staff told us that because of East wind this is the big wave issue is unusual.
The ocean floor is WHITE SAND so there is NO ISSUE of seaweed like in other near by resorts. I wish I could swim more but I was a bit concerned because of big waves.

We had to make an appointment to explore the Grande (adult only section). Strongly recommended, we missed seeing Antonio Banderas who just visited prior:) Grande is amazing, full of painted ceilings, painting, sculptures. It has a unique atmosphere there.

The Paraiso Maya lobby is a gigantic Chichen Itza replica, so basically you seet inside the pyramid seeping pina colada. Every lobby of each Iberostar resort has unique architecture and motive, make sure to explore. Vendors are a bit too pushy sometimes harassing.

We took the bike tour around the resort on an afternoon, mmmmm enjoyable. Also we took the wagon cart that drove us around all resorts as well. Boy that was fun.

Nigh shows were a fun way to spend the evening.

Shopping plaza was like a mini city to go shop, visit the spa, hide in the church a quiet place to contemplate. La Plaza has all inclusive vendors that you eat, one served dessert menu like ice cream, crepes and juice, the other served tacos and nachos. Loved them both a great way to snack and enjoy the sound of running fountain in a secluded space. Church service was in Spanish.

As long as you explore the resort, 5 total, the grounds, the lobby, the architecture, you use the all inclusive activities, the beach, you will discover new stuff to do every day and that makes the vacation unpredictable in a way:)

The shuttle to Playa del Carmen is 10$ round trip, take time to explore 5th ave, and although that night be a bit of an intense experience with vendors louring you into their stores, just across from the Ferry entrance there is a secluded boutique place with a small fountain and Starbucks place. Loved it there.

The trip to Cozumel is $25 round trip where you can rent a jeep for a whole day to drive around.

Tipping is suggested although not enforced. Please reward these hard working people for the extra mile they go for you.

Met lots of interesting people, had countless great conversations, shared many laughs and relaxed to the fullest.

Yes, I would recommend and just so you know for repeat customers Iberostar offers rewards perks and discounts.

If you have any questions keep them to yourself.....just kidding:) feel free to email me I would love to share more.

Cheers and keep in Mind Riviera Maya and Iberostar and GREAT!

Muchas Gracias Amigos.

Nice large resorts between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. Staff is friendly and place is kept very clean and tidy. Food as mentioned by previous people is quite good though the buffet can get a bit repetitive after a week so you may want to check out some of the speciality restaurant (don’t forget to book early). May not be the most luxurious place on the coast but pretty good bang for the buck.

Room Tip: Avoid the room closed to the theatre if you wish to go to bed early (it can get pretty noisy) and do...
