We are Grand Luxxe Spa Tower owners but have been going to the resort since its beginning with the Mayan Palace accommodations. The resort is growing and many new and exciting things are supposed to happen, i.e. a Beach Club for Grand Luxxe members, a Water park for everybody, a Circ d' Soleil venue across the Highway with additional lodging, all connected by shuttle or train service (projected). Not all the developer's ideas are happening, but something new is always in "the works".
The Grand Luxxe suites are wonderful, spacious and immaculately maintained. The staff throughout the resort is courteous, friendly, professional and helpful.
The restaurants all provide wonderful food (our opinion) and it is hard to choose each day where to go. We enjoyed the daily buffet breakfast at Havana Moon or the even more elaborate one at Del Lago. Frida's has very good Mexican dishes and Tramonto's Prime Rib night on Tuesdays is always a special treat.Green Break becomes Taco Break in the evening with very nice, fresh made taco dishes. If one wants an inexpensive resort, then this might not be the one, but even then one can live economical by shopping at the Jade Deli for breakfast and lunch items and sharing restaurant food portions which is never a problem with the wait staff.
Most people who write reviews for this resort have bad comments about the sales presentation. I agree, it is always long and the sales pitch is strong, but one can walk away with a smile and say "thank you" or, like in our case actually purchase.
If you have questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message, I will be happy to try and help.
