Amidst miles of beachfront, developers were oh so generous to allow non all-inclusive visitors and locals a small patch of beach wedged between the gross land grab at the hands of the all inclusives. That's what is called Dominicus Beach.
You cannot even lie on the beach without listening to the pounding club music from Wyndham.
That said, the beach is very nice, if you're fortunate to visit on a day where you don't have to basically lie on top of the next beach-goer.
The sand is near perfect and the weather seems to be great during the coldest months in the Northeast, like January and February. The water is very clear and not too warm, just lovely.
I guess it makes sense that hotel corporations have come in and captured nearly all of the beachfront from la romana to the National Park. What a shame, if you're not a fan of staying in an all inclusive, you're out of luck.
