Was on a cruise and had a difficult time finding something to do in La Romana, Dominic Republic. My mom found this tour for $65 and transportation was an additional $15. Our tour guide was Roger, who made this excursion amazing! We went by speedboat to Saona island, while on the way, Roger would have the boat stop and would provide us with facts about the island, greenery, etc. Once on Saona Island, a delicious lunch was provided along with unlimited drinks (rum punch and beer). There was an option to snorkel, but we chose to relax along the beach instead. On the way back, we stopped in a beautiful spot in the water where it was a little over waist-deep to find starfish! Here, more alcohol was handed out along with rum cake! We were originally worried about this port on our cruise, but Seavis Tours did an excellent job changing that. By far one of my favorite things on the trip and would definitely recommend for everyone to do this and if possible, request Roger as your tour guide!

Hello Taylor. Thanks for your nice review. And thank your mom for finding us!! You went on our Saona Special Tour with our guide Robert. We are happy you had a great excursion. Nobody has to worry coming to La Romana port. We try to do the best we can for all the Cruise passengers who book with us. Hope to see you again. Marion.

We are divers and took this mainly as a snorkel trip, so it colors my review.
The boat ride to the island included a few nature stops, birds and mangroves. Nothing we don't see in Florida. The only snorkeling was at a hurricane destroyed pier. Water clarity was poor and very little to see other than a few fish. Definitely not on par with other Caribbean islands. Can't recommend it if snorkeling is your desire. Lunch was very good and the speedboat ride back was fun. We also stopped at a shallow area where they gathered some starfish, showed them to the guests and let them hold them. They also served drinks there. I guess the starfish showing would be good if you have not seen them before. Price was ok - $65 pp + $20 pp taxi.

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry this tour was not what you expected!! We try to explain and show our guests a bit more about the nature and culture of this beautiful Island!!! Snorkeling is just a part of our tour!! It is not a snorkeling trip only!!! Happy you liked our lunch at Catuano Beach and the trip on our speedboats!! Marion.

We took two excursions with this company back in October 2014. One was Jungle tour, other was Trip to Saona island.

We read reviews here at tripadvisor and decided to give them a chance. Initially we wanted to go just on Saona island trip as we stayed only two nights at Bayahibe. Here comes advice nr1 - book excursions in advance. We didn't so when we showed up early in the morning they had to say sorry, we're fully booked today. But luckily for us there was two free spaces on Jungle Trip and it turned out to be very great. Rob was a very great guide. As we were only English speaking persons in German, Dutch group he also explained and told everything in English. We visited national park, swam in cave, took a ride on river with big boat and also kayaks. Great. It turned out to be awesome surprise.

We also booked trip to Saona island few days later and it also was very great. We were able to see starfishes, to snorkel and see the beautiful island.

I would recommend this company as guides are great. It's the little things that make SeavisTours great :)
Also on all excursions included food and drinks :)

Alex

This was by far the best tour I have ever been on. The tour guide was friendly, kind and extremely knowledgeable and spoke 5 languages! It gave you an opportunity to view the beauty of the country and the realistic living of the islanders. Got to hold starfish, baby sea turtle, and see many varieties of fish while snorkeling. Lunch was delicious and the boat ride was smooth and the boat captain did an awesome job. Photographer took great pictures and put them on a CD. Was worth the money to purchase the pictures. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience a truly pleasurable day.

I had hard time to find what to do during our cruise stop at La Romana. Choices were limited. But this tour was a great choice. It is very well organized tour. Price is $65. Take a taxi (extra $15 round trip) from the port, then get on a speedboat right away and in 30 min you are in paradise. They prepare lunch for you, unlimited drinks, and you can snorkel. Snorkeling was not not great. Then they took us to see star fish, which was a lot of fun. Everybody loved this tour and nobody had to deal with not very nice locals. Definitely, this is great thing to do while on the cruise.

Thanks for your nice review!! Good to hear you had a great Saona Special Tour with us!! The Saona Special is only for the people who are from the cruise ships!! We work on those days with the time table of the La Romana Port. So nobody has to worry to get back in time on the ship!!! Thanks again and maybe until next time!!! Marion.
