“Highlight of our trip”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

Girls trip to Punta Cana - first time to visit the Dominican. After much research, we chose the Saona Island tour with Seavis as our only excursion. As much as we enjoyed the rest of our trip, we were happy our tour was the last day of our trip. Otherwise, the rest of the trip would have been a disappointment. This tour was fantastic. We were scheduled to be picked up at our hotel at 7 am. We arrived at the hotel lobby at 6:40. They picked us up at 6:45 am. (We were the first stop.) Talk about promptness. It is about an hour drive to Bayahibe on the shuttle but it is air conditioned and you can visit with our tourists or sleep. Not a big deal at all.

Our tour guide, Kirsten, photographer, Tony, captain and others were fantastic. My friend and I were the only English speaking tourists on our boat/tour. We felt like this ended up being to our advantage because it really felt like we got to have more individual conversation with her, opportunities to ask more questions, etc. A few of the other tourists spoke a little English and everyone was very friendly. The visit with the starfish was great, the Rocks of Penon and the mangroves are really cool and the visit, tour and lunch at Mano Juan is amazing. It's one thing to see it but to hear the history makes it even better. The different shades of water are breathtaking. We highly recommend snorkeling at the beach visit.

On the return trip from the island back to Bayahibe, one of the props on the boat stopped working so we "had" to stop at another beautiful beach for them to either fix it or get us another boat. They were all so apologetic and accomondating but who could complain about stopping at another beautiful beach for more swimming? They fixed it within 15 minutes and we were back on our way.

Excellent service. Very personable. Good food. Good history. Fabulous views. Beautiful water. Take this trip and buy the CD of pictures - so worth the money.

“Excellent Saona Crusoe VIP”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

What an amazing day! Boarded the speedboat in Bayahibe then took off for the Natural Pool, taking in Peñon on the way and learning about the history of the area by our lovely guide Ingrid. Spent half an hour or so out on a sandbank in a few feet of water with huge Starfish and a refreshing glass of Cuba Libre.
Then off to Saona Island via the mangroves. We stopped at the only village on Saona, Mano Juan, and took a 1 hour walking tour, taking in the sights, meeting the villagers.... and the highlight of the village tour..... the turtle sanctuary! We got to learn all about the incredible work that Seavis do on the island to protect the sea turtles. We were lucky enough to see 139 1 day old baby turtles and even hold them!! Soooo cute!! They were to be released into the sea a few days later, so we wished them good luck.
After a delicious BBQ lunch on the beach at Mano Juan, consisting of Lobster (for an additional fee) and pork with a great selection of salads, we were quite full and ready to move on to the second beach of our trip... Canto De La Playa
What a beautiful beach!! The snorkelling was incredible. I followed a family of 7 Cuttlefish across the reef!! We got about 2 hours on the beach, drinking rum and taking advantage of the photographer to do a professional photoshoot. Take your own snorkel, mask & fins if you can as there are limited supplies. We brought our own and spent most of the time exploring the reef.
This was also the first time I saw a helicopter land on a beach!
At just after 4pm we boarded the boat again for a 50 minute thrill ride back to Bayahibe. The sea had got a little choppier and it was great fun!
To sum up, a perfect full day out, which was educational and extremely memorable.
Thank you Seavis!!

“Seavis an absolute must while in the Dominican Republic”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

My wife is a Travel Consultant out of Wichita, Kansas and my family of four with children ages 13 and 8 has the opportunity to travel regularly. The Caribbean is a regular stop and we have been to many islands and resorts and we have been on our fair share of excursions. And, while we have mixed feelings about the Dominican Republic our experience with Seavis Tours last May was top notch and without question the best tour organization we have ever come across. We had our best Caribbean day tour ever with Seavis.
The logistics and the knowlegeable staff were superb and our tour which included a visit to Saona Island was one we will never forget. Our tour started at the office outside the Wyndam Dominican Palace and we were nicely transferred to their office in the Bayahibe harbor where tourists from Punta Cana and other locations came for this tour. The people, Ingrid the tour guide, the food, the scenery, the quality of the speed boat and the Captains were all fantastic. The kids loved racing across the ocean to see starfish, go snorkeling and visit Saona. Seavis is invested not only in their tour business but also in the ecology of the DR. The owners and some of its staff are Dutch (so am I although I have lived in the US most of my life). They are not the least expensive but they are very good and safe.
We suggest that while you are on the DR on your own or with a cruise that you plan your trip with Seavis and plan it early in your trip because it is highly likely that you will want to do a 2nd trip with them and not all trips are available on a daily basis. We would have liked to gone on the river trip but it was not available in the remaining days that we were there.
Whether you are a couple, a family or traveling solo Seavis will provide you a fantastic day.
Oh, and if you plan to go to Saona Island pay the extra $10 and have the lobster!!!!!!!
Be sure to contact Seavis directly for more information and/or to book your excursion or to book a trip to the Dominican Republic or anywhere else please feel free to contact us at Jennifer.warrentravel@gmail.com.

“Seavis Bayahibe two Island Tour”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We booked the tour online for July 17 2013. The company takes cash only so be prepared to pay on arrival.
What an incredible experience! I would highly recommend this experience. We were picked up at our hotel in Punta Cana at 7 am, as promised. We then took an hour ride to Bayahide in a comfortable taxi. The round trip fare was $25.00 per person. We met Robert, our guide. Robert came to the Dominican Republic 14 years ago with his wife Ingrid from Holland and fell in love with the island and the people. That is not hard to do! Robert comes from a different perspective then many other tour excursions I have attended in the past. Robert truly loves the island, it's history and wants to preserve nature rather than exploiting it for money. If you want an authentic experience, this is for you. His love and joy for nature came out as he took us to place after place highlighting the beauty, history and wonder of the island. Many times we were the only ones at the many different destinations and I felt like I was getting an exclusive, once in a lifetime peek into the culture and habitat of the D.R. I felt he monitored the interests of the group and tailored the tour to us. My favorite were the shallow waters which harbored many starfish. His first priority was to help us appreciate these creatures, experience them but also protect them from damage. Robert is an incredible teacher.
From start to finish, this excursion was around 12 hours. I certainly got my monies worth. I did some other water/snorkeling excursions through the hotel for 1/3 the time but more money. They could not hold a candle to this experience. I give this experience 5 stars!

“"must do" while in Bayahibe!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Booked the Sanoa Tour independently while on a Carnival cruise for our party of 7 and LOVED it! Hgreat for adults, teens, and even a member of our party with physical limitations. Easy to book and Carlos was a fun and knowledgable tour guide. NOT A BOOZE FEST although rum, soda, and water flow freely all day. The food was okay, not great....it was the fun atmosphere created by Seavis that made the day so enjoyable. The only negative was the disorganization and confusion associated with locating the designated Seavis taxis at the start of the day.
