“Excellent Excursion”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Booked the Sanoa Island VIP tour. Emailed directly to their office. Received a good price compared to booking with our hotel and flight package. Multi-lingual operator.
Picked up promptly at arranged time. It rained the morning of our tour so Cisco decided to change the order of our tour stops which turned out fabulously. Full sunshine by the time we arrived at the beach.
Lunch was tasty and the Island tour very interesting. Learned about sea turtles with SeaVis.
Book this tour operator with confidence.. would highly recommend.

“Worth it”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

We did the two island tour and the jungle tour. We were both rather ill with a bug we brought with us from the states so our reaction is undoubtedly colored by that. The two island tour was a fun day. The other reviews describe it accurately. The guide was good and knowledgeable but needed to pay a bit more attention to the slower members of our group who often missed his informative discussions. Having snorkeled and dove around the world, I would rate the 30- minute snorkel stop as so-so. We had a smooth weather day, if it were a bit more choppy, it would have been very challenging. The ads suggest that you will see large fish such as sharks or rays. Highly unlikely. However, I ate a bite of a raw ocean cockroach (I can't remember if it is the male or female that makes sushi) which was a first. It was good and firsts are always wonderful. The time on the island was very pleasant and the walk around the little island was delightful. In short, for anyone who doesn't spend a lot of time in tropical waters, I would definitely recommend it. It is not a booze cruise. There are a bunch of those that ply some of the same waters. If you're in party mode, those would be better choices.

Their office and the starting point for their tours is just a few yards down the beach from the Cuban cafe which everyone on the village can direct you to (and its a great place to eat if you are staying in town as we were).

“Saona Special”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

We arrived in the DR aboard the Carnival Breeze and had booked the Saona Special through Seavis online prior to arriving. We saved quite a bit of money doing it this way as they also sell through Carnival and their price (around $100) didn't even include lunch.

The taxi trip to Bayhibe was well organized and didn't take very long at all, despite the poor van driver practically having to hold the shifter in gear as it kept slipping out! Once we arrived we had a quick trip to the bathroom, received our wrist bands (to allow us lunch) and we were put into groups to board our boats.

Our tour guide Chris (I think?) was from Spain and he was awesome (he was pretty hot too ;)) We stopped several times along the coast so he could explain about the coral, mangroves and the national park etc. The boat trip was quite rough, both ways. Anyone with back problems or neck problems really should be cautious about taking this trip and definitely sit in the back. I was a bit sore for a few days after.

Then we were off to the island of Saona which had beautiful white sandy beaches and incredibly clear, aqua blue waters. The drivers did a great job of getting us all on and off of the boat; a feat in itself with the surf coming in and the boat bobbing up and down. We were able to enjoy about an hour and a half on shore, soaking up the sun. Rum and Cokes and Rum Punch were available freely. Beer was served during the barbecue lunch. The lunch was so-so. You could also buy a fresh coconut and drink the milk, then have it split open to eat the meat for only $2.

The highlight of the trip though, was heading to the sandbar where we were able to all get out of the boat into very shallow water and find lots of beautiful starfish. Chris was again great at explaining about the starfish. We also had delicious cake with rum and pineapple on top. YUM!

The staff really did a great job of accommodating our shortened trip. Originally our itinerary allowed for an extra hour on DR, but Seavis promptly reorganized everything to get us back with plenty of time to board the Breeze. Five other people were not as lucky and missed the boat that day!

Thanks Seavis!

“A great Christmas Day with Seavis Tours”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

Our 2 children, my parents, myself and husband decided to book this excursion when our cruise ship docked at La Romana. Carlos was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and answered many questions. The scenery and beach were amazing. Lunch and drinks were provided and you could buy coconuts (and have rum poured inside it) for $3. Bring really good sunscreen - I wouldn't recommend the sunscreen that you spray on as it may be windy and not actually fully cover you! Everyone enjoyed snorkeling off the Island and there were beautiful fish and coral very close to the shore. After snorkeling and eating, we traveled by boat to another shallow area to find various sea-life. Our group found over a dozen starfish, a sea cucumber, clam shells and my daughter found a conch shell which had an octopus inside. It's a good thing that she didn't know this when she first held the conch to her ear! Our boat did have some technical difficulties a few times, but managed to restart. Thanks for such a special day!
