We stayed in the adults only preferred in July for 2 weeks for our Honeymoon and we had a fabulous time. The service is fantastic and as the adults only section only opened last year the pool and surrounding area is in great condition. This resort has a no wristband rule, when you collect towels etc they will ask for your room number and surname as they have a list of the guests to determine whether you are a preferred guest. The resort as a whole is beautiful, the calm blue clear sea is an absolute winner great for snorkelling. The restaurants are all of a good standard with no reservations required, just turn up to whatever you fancy that evening, the two that stood out for me was the French ( Bordeaux ) and the Steak ( seaside grill ) the house white wine throughout the resort is also pretty good. The cocktails are gorgeous, especially the dirty banana! The Olio restaurant is a great touch for a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner
for preferred guests, the staff here are very attentive but saying that all staff we encountered were very good. We ordered room service which was very good and is 24 hours and included in your package. The beach waiter service is a nice touch and very welcoming in the heat! The water sport centre on the beach has pedal boats, kayaks, paddle boards and catamarans for guest to use which is also included in your package. The nightly turn down service with chocolates and fresh towels for the following morning was lovely. There is an iPod docking station in the rooms compatible with the newer iPod's. You also get robes and slippers in the room, the beds are very comfy and the AC worked perfectly. We never really saw any evening entertainment as we spent the evenings at the preferred bar. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff here. We only ate in the main buffet a couple of times for breakfast so I can't comment much on that. On the beach there is a hut cooking burgers, hot dogs and chicken throughout the day if you want a snack, there is also a pizza place near the main pool cooking fresh pizza's, these were very good! There coffee shop do some great coffees, you can get cakes, muffins and sandwiches here too. On certain evenings you can find some local market vendors selling the usual souvenirs around the main pool. We spent most of our time either at the preferred beach area or the preferred adult pool, it was so relaxing and never stupidly busy, you could always get a lounger or bed anytime of the day. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we were due to go somewhere else for new year but we've scrapped that and we've booked to go back to dreams la romana instead! I think that says it all! Go and enjoy... The adult preferred is well worth the upgrade if you want a child free holiday with great service, great drinks, great food in luxurious relaxed surroundings. Also a little tip regarding how to get here from the UK.....We usually always book our holidays with Thomson but check out BA holidays as on both occasions we have saved a few hundred pounds going with BA! Thank you dreams, see you again in December!
