While staying in Cala Egos, I went on a daily run into Porto Petro, and explored a fair bit of it on foot. It's definitely one step further away from 'resort', and one closer to 'traditional fishing village'. It's a beautiful wee place, very picturesque - all Spanish green shutters and wee sailing boats. There are a few restaurants down on the harbour, which if we had been sans kids I'd definitely have dragged Mrs W along to, as they looked like proper 'local' restaurants as opposed to tourist traps. The 'main street' if you can call it that has a supermarket and a few small shops, and overall, it's a quiet, peaceful place far from the maddening crowds.
