I have just returned from the Athos I was at Akrathos beach hotel and I am still at a positive impressions. The hotel is located near Ouranopolis and only 50 m from the beach. Hotel itself offers a lot of night fun theme almost every second day. The persons who worked in the hotel (I think they were Bulgarian) were very kind and a great smile never left their faces. Food was excellent with little objection for the lunch. Beach was phenomenal. I never go twice to the same place for vacation but I think i'll be back here sooner or later.

We stayed at Akrathos Beach for three days just after the Easter holidays. The hotel is pleasant and cozy. Rooms are comfortable and clean, without redundant luxury. The location is magnificent, with a beautiful sea view. The hotel garden is really charming with its palm trees and olives, giving you that typical taste of sunny Greece. The staff is very nice and friendly. It is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation of families with kids, and it was our first but surely not last visit of Akrathos.

We have just returned from our 1 week vacation at Akrathos hotel beach and having in minde the reviews I read I decided to present this Hotel, in my opinio.
The location of the hotel is beautiful, and very close to the see. The sand is fine, with a few rocks, but acceptable, clean water and beach, everithing beautiful.
The rooms and amenities of the hotel are clean and nice, with a lot of olive trees and some kind of palm trees. Everithing was green and beautiful.
The room wa ok, with a nice balcony out of which we admired the see and also the hotel.
The food was really good. We liked almoust everithing and could not get out of the restaurant just when we were stuffed. The taste was very good and also we liked the souces and salades and the variety of food at dinner.
I would recommend this hotel from all of my heart.

Today we have just returned from Akrathos Beach Hotel in Ouranoupoli and here is my fair review.
The location of the hotel is very beautiful and the surroundings really breath-taking. It is a big hotel but it is not situated on the beach, you have to pass the road or to go through a bridge with a lot of stairs in order to reach the beach.
The hotel itself is very clean. Staff is trying to keep everything -including the beach- clean and they make a wonderful job. They are also always eager to help and to serve you. Don' t forget to tip the cleaning ladies, they do a fabulous job and they deserve it.
The rooms are small. The bathrooms are very small. They do their jobs, though.
View depends on where you stay - if you are situated on the second floor, view is unlimited. Beware, you can easily book on a cheap rate and end up staying in the basement rooms - no need to mention that there is no view there other than the olive trees.
The beach, as I already mentioned, is kept clean but it is not as fantastic as other parts of Halkidiki. There are some small -and even bigger- rocks and sea weeds. It is not ideal for children since it goes deep very quickly. There are also a lot of boats, private or mostly for rent, so it is somehow dangerous to swim outside the restricted area.
The pool is big and clean, 1,70 cm height all of it. It has a second, smaller pool for kids (60 cm height) and a third part of the pool where the water jets are situated. Only 3 or 4 out of 10 are functioning, so they are always occupied, mostly by kids. The best time to enjoy the hydro-massage is around 14:00-16:00 when there are few people around but they turn them off every second hour, so check the timetable on the pool bar before going there.
Food was not so good. It was tasteless and miserable. It was the first time in my life that I wasn' t able to eat anything from the hotel's lunch or dinner! Of course, that was not the case every day, once or twice the food was OK but it was not great -not even by far. I was told by people who stayed at this hotel in the past that food was good, so I discussed the matter with other guests in case I was wrong but everybody shared the same opinion. I would by happy with some pasta and cheese but although pasta was always present, cheese was nowhere to be found. The only cheese they had was some Feta which in fact was white cheese and not tasty. I would also be happy with some rice or meat but both of them were either raw or overdone. All the sauces were full of garlic or onion in order to have some taste and for dessert there was always jelly and a couple of other poor options - ice cream was out of the question of course.
All inclusive in this hotel is really few inclusive. Sodas and refreshments were really, and I mean really, undrinkable. No spirits - whiskey, gin, vodka - which were present in every other all inclusive package I have ever been. Beer was within the all inclusive package, as well as brandy and ouzo, but always draft, never from bottle, and their quality was also very poor. Water was available, but in no case was someone allowed to take something from the bar to the room, so if someone wanted to have some water to drink during the night or just to wash his teeth, he must buy it from the mini market or take a plastic glass to the room without being seeing! It was so unbelievable that became funny! An all inclusive resort where you have to buy your own water! Everywhere in the premises there were signs of prohibiting the transfer of food and drinks from the bars to the room. It is also the first thing someone reads when he enters the room, so any idea of having your drink while enjoying the view of the room was out of the question, unless of course you have bought it. But then again, where is the "all inclusive" in that?
Children play area was extremely good. The little ones seem to enjoy it very much. There was also a mini club but only for German-speaking kids! All other kids are not welcome and they felt awful...I have experienced the same situation in a Greek island, but the manager there was clever enough to hire a Greek kinder guard who speaks English as well. Now it is at the top of parents' choice. In Akrathos hotel that was simply not the case. You talk German or you don' t enter the mini club.
Now, as entertainment is concerned...There are three theme nights per week.
The first one, on Saturdays, is the Greek night. Greek music and dancing. Quite good, people enjoy it.
The second one on Monday nights, disco nights. Well, it could be better on the selection of the songs since most of the audience was too old to know the new hits but it was OK at the end when older songs (80s and 90s) were played. The third one was a jazz/pop performance night where a girl with a really good voice and a boy with sax where performing for a couple of hours ballads and pop songs. Unfortunately, the girl did not know the words of most of the songs; instead, she was repeating the first chorus again and again. Other than that, it was a sweet night.
Well, that was my personal opinion about Akrathos Hotel. We did not had a bad time, we had the sun and the relax time we longed for, but surely with the same - and even less - money we could have been in a place with much more to offer. There are thousands of other hotels in this area, much cheaper. Well, they don't all offer the all inclusive program but, trust me, at the end it will be cheaper to go out for lunch and to pay for the refreshments. After all, probably you will have to do that anyway...

We stayed in Akrathos beac hotel in September 2009 with my 4 year old son and baby of 3 months. This was the most relaxed holiday with children. There are playgorunds on the beach, at the hotel, children entertaiment at night and space for children to run. The food was excellent escpecially the sweets and the cakes as well as the domestic food- giro, pasticio, , souflaki ets. There is plenty of fresh food and salads during the day - everuday there was a big van of fresh fruts in the hotel. The acomodation was ok- the double room is very small for 2 children and the bathroom definetly needed renovation but it was clean. The pool was clean but we used it only once because the sea is fantastic, the beach is clean and because the island of Amouliani is in front of you there are never waves at the sea even in strong wind.Maybe if you have baby in a stroller its hard to go to the narrow road but its good for exercise. The hotel staff is very organized because september is period of weddings and in the weekends there were weddings at the hotel, but it didn't bother us because it wasn't too loud. The drinks are poor but you get used to them. Anyway it was very pleasant hotel and lovely holyday.

The hotel was nice, rooms are almost all with some seaview. The all inclusive service was not bad. Pool was great. Altogether it was more then I expected form a 3star hotel.

Only the noise level was a bit high, and the maids wanted to clean the rooms at 3pm, when our kid was usually sleeping.

However, definitely worth the money.
