Excellent quiet location, very close to the best beaches in Chalkidiki. Pefkochori is 10 min by car for a night out. Spacious, perfect for families as well as for groups of friends. The big balcony has a breathtaking view. Fully equiped kitchen. We'll visit again!
I stayed at the Kripis Studio Paliouri for 9 days at the end of June together with my husband and our nephew and niece. We were all impressed by everything that the apartment is offering and truly enjoyed every moment there. I'll try to give a detailed overview.
The studio which is more like a 2-room apartment is spacious and well organized. Everything was very new and perfectly clean. It was so well equipped that we could come with half of our luggage. There was a wardrobe full with towels, bed linens and blankets - all of them new and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with all kinds of kitchenware - a stove and oven, fridge, dishes, glasses, cups, different pots and pans, and even a juicer and a waffle maker.
The beds were very large and comfortable (almost double the size of a usual Greek bedroom). The two rooms are well apart and give a good privacy. There was an air conditioner and additional fans as a part of the ceiling lamps. The bathroom was also new and comfortable. The house has solar panels so there is hot water all the time. It was enough for 4 people, and we could get more in a 10 min. additional heating.
The terrace is large and has a great sea view. It looks east so it's sunny in the morning and calm in the afternoon. There was a light breeze all the time. The windows and glass doors have plastic roller blinds to keep the heat out. There is a parking in front of the house.
The owners were very kind and helpful. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us as welcome. They take a good care for the guests and made our stay very pleasurable. It's a family of a civil engineer and an architect, who obviously made the house in a good style and big attention to details.
When we choose the village of Paliouri we were only looking for the most south place in Kassandra, so we only knew a few things from the Internet. It's a small village away from the crowds, with houses covered in flowers and large gardens. It makes very romantic impression. We didn't notice many foreign tourists. It's more like place where Greek people have their summer houses. The village is on a hill, so higher you go more sea views you get. The evenings are cooler than in Pefkohori. It has 2 supermarkets, 2 bakeries, a butcher shop, a fish shop, a pharmacy and several taverns.
Although there are buses from Thessaloniki, I recommend visiting the village with a personal vehicle. Paliouri beach (Xenia beach) is on 5 min. driving. It is large with soft sand. The sea was warm and crystal clean. Many people say it is the best beach in Kassandra. In June it wasn't crowded at all. There are bars that attract lots of young people during the weekends. The part next to the camp is quiet and suitable for families.
All I can say at the end is that we had a wonderful time, perfect accommodation and pleasant hosts. I'm sure we'll be their guests again.
